This may be my most harebrained collection of words yet… but I write what I write, by the grace of God.
Someone’s on a roll.
Anyway I was going through my notes here and there seem to be some items I wanted to write about, that have been left alone and unaddressed. Thought I’d go ahead and quickly snip them off for another win today, while I wait for other things to happen.
I follow this dude on YouTube; he used to go by the name TheAngryPhotographer, and this guy was very dedicated to his craft and certainly had the skill and the gear to back it up. Way back when I started delving into photography and invested more time and money into it, I decided to follow the Nikon brand. This guy happened to have extensive experience in Nikon gear (apparently his collection included lenses back in an age where autofocus wasn’t a thing yet)… and when he was very open about his dissatisfaction regarding where the company was headed, He started talking about Fujifilm… right about the time that I shifted from Nikon to Fujifilm, myself. How convenient.
In the recent years, however, I’m assuming that he exhausted all he had to say about photography in general… that, or the current state of the world got to him to a point that he couldn’t help but rant about it. So what used to be a go-to channel for all things photography, well, it’s turned to a philosophy channel. This guy isn’t a Christian, but he does have interesting worldviews that I do have under my own consideration… all in all, he’s just a fun guy to listen to because he makes so much sense.
Anyway. In one video he talks about how we ought to consider how there are people at the top who do not have our best interests in their mind, and he groups them into five ‘cabals’ that differ according to how they would try to control you. The cabals are as follows: The Pharma Cabal, Food Cabal, Propaganda Cabal, Bank Cabal, and the Government Cabal.
Or the way I see it, we’re to consider that attempts to control us will come by way of medicine, food, media, finances, and politics. And I don’t know, I was supposed to go in-depth with this, but I wanted to lead towards just saying that while these may not necessarily be the only ways people of power would try to establish dominance, they could give us an idea of how it’ll all play out in the future – if anything, we’re given a picture of how things may happen, just so we could prepare and be a step or two ahead.
By the way, in another video he lays out how certain items will be of value in the future, if in case things happen the way he foresees them – and I see that they’re more or less in line to address how the said cabals would try to control the populace. They seem to be items that – surprise, surprise – would have us self-sufficient and able to function, independent of other powers or providers. These were things like seeds, preserved food, and medication both natural and conventional; And in the place of fiat or cryptocurrencies, he also mentioned that it would be good for us to have gold and silver for bartering.
All this, I suppose, is good advice to take – the possibility of what he foresees happening is quite significant, but the advice he provides comes from a more practical standpoint. Nothing wrong with that, I say, but if you’ve followed me for a while now, you’ll know that I wouldn’t leave it at that.
See, more than us directly ‘countering’ these said cabals, might I remind you, dear reader, that there is the Truth of Christ – that is, there is One who has power far and beyond anyone or anything that claims to have any sort of power over us. No cabal is greater than the Lord of Lords, who is our Lord as much as He is our Savior – Jesus Christ.
Incidentally, while we have medicine, let’s remind ourselves that Christ is our Healer – and while it is possible for a miracle of healing to happen to us or our loved ones, let’s remember that Christ WAS our Healer, just as much as He IS a Healer we could run to; For see, at the cross He liberated us, and He healed us of the greatest affliction any of us could have, a sickness that goes beyond the physical, one that leads the the eventual oblivion of not only our bodies, but our ENTIRE beings; Friends, Christ healed us of what no pharmaceutical company could ever liberate us from – He healed us of sin.
Heh. I guess I WILL be elaborating on it, while I could.
Moving on. While we may have reliable food or water sources, or even if we’re to resort to give up some of our freedoms for bread and drink – no matter what happens, or where we figure out, let’s remind ourselves of two things, true not only for our minds and our souls, but for our entire beings – (1) Christ is the Bread of Life, who I believe has satisfied us with all things infinite, that everything in our being is absolutely full, even if we starve. Also, (2) Christ is the Water of Life, and though we thirst in our physical bodies, behold – because we believe, out of our bellies will gush forth springs of living Water.
I know, I like to think I’m a practical man, and I’m not advocating a mind-over-matter sort of way of thinking. I’ll be honest, though – the way I’m approaching this is from a standpoint that suggests that the absence of satiation we may have in this world and in this reality is nothing compared to the absolute satisfaction we have in Christ. Going further into what I believe, He doesn’t merely save us according to the circumstances we find ourselves in within the confines of this world, which most of us would base our own expectations on… But see here, we’ve been brought, by the grace of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit, to believe that the salvation we have in Christ is a complete re-creation, and an absolute, all-encompassing reconciliation.
In other words, we have been made new, and all aspects of us have been made new – to the point that the food and drink we once found so important fades before the glory and grace we have been ushered into.
Now before I go any further I just have to share: If I’m honest I’m not so sure I’m making any sense to myself, but instead of me relying on myself to figure all of this out, again – I just have to thank God for the Holy Spirit who continues to be with me even if I find myself overwhelmed by the depth of the rabbit holes I dare to dive into.
But from another point of view, it seems as if we are building towards a beautiful point here – that is, that as we have the King of Kings and Lord of Lords for us, and not against us, behold – the Salvation He gives is the Salvation of salvations, infinitely greater and more absolute compared to any sort of ‘help’ anyone else offers us while we are in the confines of this reality.
So regardless of how the enemy of our souls would try to tear us down by way of pharmaceuticals or through food, we’re able to move, knowing that we have Christ – The salvation we have in Him (as He is with us, and He is our literal Salvation) is so complete, that we are covered, even in these seemingly worldly concerns.
Again, I ought to clarify that I’m not indirectly promoting fasting (though that’s probably a good thing to keep in mind), nor am I bashing medicine or good food; No, just like money, media, and politics, these are tools and they still have their place. We’re just taking the time right now to realize that there is no one or nothing higher than Christ for us who are in His body, and as such, His salvation takes precedence and preference over anything and everything else in this world that would claim some sort of Lordship over us.
And so the world may come at us and control our minds, or the minds of our friends and families, with propaganda. To this, I say that in a world of twisted facts and false truths, there is only Christ, who is the Truth – He’s the only Truth we stand on, before we take anything else into consideration. And it’s not as if the Truth of Christ is to be such a hallowed, sensitive component within the confines of creation – Friends, take note of the story of the leper Christ encountered after the Sermon on the Mount. Remember that back then it was unheard of for people to touch lepers – the filth of the latter would ‘infect’ the seemingly clean person, but see, when Christ touched this leper, not only was He NOT infected by his unclean-ness, but in fact, it was the cleanliness of Christ that HEALED the leper!
So it is with us. I say again, in this world where, let’s face it, there is NO guarantee of the accuracy of anything anymore, I say that Christ is the Truth that we as His believers bear, a Truth that encompasses and overwhelms any and all concepts we have of validity and accuracy.
You’re still here, reading? Wow.
See, I intended to talk about money and about government individually just like I handled the first 3 items, but I think at this point, we’d do better to go through something I’ve seen in common between all of these ‘cabals’.
You know how people love to misquote Scripture, to say that money is the root of all evil? I seem to like how a lot of us come to the rescue in the comments section by clarifying, saying that it’s the love of money that’s the root of all evil. We usually leave it at that, but for the sake of what we’re talking about here, I’d like to venture a little more into the nitty-gritty – because the way I see it, you can equate the love of money to idolatry; that is, adoration, trust, and intentional dependence of anything (person, place, thing, ideal, etc.); It’s imagining things are more than what they really are. It’s attributing to creation, that which only the Creator can do.
Lucifer wanted to be God. Creation wanted to be Creator… and evil took root.
But see here – it’s only by the grace of God, that we are saved; And our salvation involves our being made new in all aspects, including in our way of thinking. In the process, our eyes are open to realizing, again, that all this we see within creation – all of it has its place, and that’s perpetually under the authority of the Creator. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are brought to realize that Christ, through His finished work, has proven that this Almighty Creator is our Father who loves us more than we could ever love anything in this reality, willing to cast all aside for our reconciliation.
We revel in this great everlasting love, this true, living Love that goes beyond time and space – so much so that we speak as Paul writes: Death, where is your sting? Indeed, medicine, food, media, money, and government – where is your draw? Yet, behold – we have the Creator with us, and see, it’s not as if we’re all snooty in this world; Quite the opposite! Remember, the leper did not infect Christ, but Christ restored the leper! As such, we are who we are in this world, never without Christ – bringing love as we are loved, seeing grace as we have grace.
We are thankful when we have the blessings of this reality, but we have longsuffering when they are far from us.
Taking from Tolkien:
“Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”
I see this as a beautiful elaboration of the first half of a line Christ said: “The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy”; And indeed, he may try and probably even succeed in dominating and controlling even the ‘best’ among us… But let us take heart, because Christ has done it all for us to have Life, and Life Abundant – No matter what.
I’m not sure if I made any sense here. I don’t know if I should have added more references and elaborated more on a couple (or ALL) things I wrote.
Jesus Christ is Lord. Sing praises to His name.
Until the next post, God bless you.
I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.
