There was a time, oh, I believe before the scam pandemic when I said that we shouldn’t be complaining about the influx of tourists and the increase in heavy traffic, here where we live – we tout ourselves as a tourist destination, we literally asked for it…. So grin and bear it, as it is the cost of what we claim to be.
Recently, I’ve been talking at length on how I’ve been asking the Lord for help, for deliverance; I’ve been crying out to the Lord, acknowledging that He moves – right, I’ve been claiming the bridge of Waymaker a lot lately, placing much emphasis on where we sing, ‘Even when I don’t feel it, (He’s) working, Even when I don’t see it, (He’s) working, (He) never stops, (He) never stops working.‘
And to add on top of that, I’ve been crying out to the Lord about how I want something new – for myself, for my family, for our congregation, and so on. Basis of this being how triggered I get when I see yet another vlogger, yet another podcast… with the love of money not necessarily being heard in their spiels, but certainly there.
Allow me a little more time to rant here, because I guess I’ve been keeping this in for the longest time – it’s so much easier for folks to share just about anything on Social Media and get much more for their minimal effort. I am aware of how I sound like a bitter old man whose had his time in the limelight, and who seriously needs to get with the times…
But this bitter old man is really wanting to get ahead of the times. Easily sounds as selfish as it can be, sure, but the reason why I’m letting it all out here is, really, because it’s to emphasize that this is how open I’ve been to the Creator of the Universe (as we all should be open to Him, thank Jesus for that).
So I’ve been crying out to the Lord for help… And I’ve been crying out to the Lord for new things.
Even went as far as to testify to the congregation recently, that we certainly have a God, and a Savior who makes all things new.
Christ makes all things new in the present tense; Even right now, though we may not see it, He is working towards renewal. In this power outage I’ve been reading Psalm 107, and, long story short, there we’re able to read of how man is afflicted, but every time they call upon the Lord, they are delivered. The cause of the affliction and its symptoms are mentioned, but the Lord’s approach of delivery varies – for example, the symptom is hunger, but the Lord delivers by sending His Word, addressing the affliction.
Even when we don’t see it happening, we know Christ is delivering us, and making all things new.
Christ will make all things new in the future. He is IN the future making all things new, just as He works all things today for the good of all things in the future.
And just as Christ is IN the future, so I believe He is also IN our past, making all things new IN the past, if that makes any sense. Not only is He present today and causing all things that have happened in the past to work for our good, He is IN the past, omnipotent and omnipresent as He is, making all things new – without what our creativity believes are repercussions (alternate timelines, cataclysmic effects, etc).
The resurrected and ascended Christ is the only begotten Son of God, truly worthy of being given the titles of First and Last, Beginning and End, and, Alpha and Omega.
I’ve been crying out to the Lord for help… And I’ve been crying out to the Lord for new things.
Recently I’ve seen progression – for the company we started 3 years ago, we’ve just received word that the documentation we need to start operations has just been approved.
In the recent days, I’ve also been training on a skill set I thought I’d never touch with a 10-foot pole – Sales. At times I’ve needed to justify my choosing to jump into Sales, assuring myself that this is in line with what Naval Ravikant says – where someone who learns how to build, AND learns sales is unstoppable. I’ve assured myself that this is, again, a new skill set that will help my (so-called) career in the long run. Heck, I’ve even assured myself that this is most likely in line with what we’re calling the theme of the year for our Church, starting September 2026 – We’re rooted in Christ, meaning we’re living up to our name – Living the Good News, and advancing the Worldwide Mission – associating Sales to evangelism.
There’s all this going on – in business, in work, and in church; There are new things going on in my personal life, in my health in particular, after that rabies scare I brought myself into. I also sincerely believe there are new things going on, not only with me, but with others close to my heart, as well. May it all continue to happen.
I asked for deliverance, and I literally asked for something new – and, well, here I am, grinning and bearing it. I’m claiming the Word, particularly where it says that all things good come from God, and He adds no sorrow to it.
This recent weather disturbance cut the power, and I’ve been led to let all of this out… and, well, the power just came back.
I don’t know what you’re getting at, Lord, but I still say what I meant to say even if the power stayed off throughout the entire time I’ve been writing all this – My trust continues to be on You, Lord. You’re with me through the storms, You’re delivering me, and making all things new. In You, I live, move, and have my being. My trust is in You, now and forever. Amen.
