Psalm 133 – June 14, 2026

Thank You again, Father, for the reading of Your Word.

Psalm 133

Blessed Unity of the People of God

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.

3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

One Psalm back and we’re seeing the same word precede all else – Behold. Only here I’m reminded that beholding Christ and His finished work brings us to see further impact – not only on ourselves, but in fellowships.

Beholding brings us together. It’s Christ and His finished work that serves as the deepest and strongest common ground. Christ as a Foundation is further proven Firm when we all stand together.

By seeing this common ground as an example, we see that we are blessed from the bottom up… But the rest of the verses indicate that in union that we experience anointing, and in union we receive blessing – in the form of refreshing dew on the mountains.

Feels like something I’d like to start with in our incoming message this afternoon. Proximity, common preferences, familiar priorities, all that stuff – these contribute in the union of the congregation, but it’s Christ and His finished work that faithfully serves as the solid ground and the firm foundation through whom we not only come together, but stay together.
