Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, chains are broken, eyes are opened
Christ is with us, Christ is with us
Thankful to the Lord for the early mornings, and the revelations that come with it.
Thankful to the Lord, because you don’t need to be anything special – it’s because of the finished work of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, that we are able to hear from the Lord. Indeed, through revelations, through the Word of the Lord, our senses are treated to the love of the Father.
You don’t need to be anyone special, you don’t need to do anything special – trust in the Lord, and He comes through for you. It is as the folks in the band known as Casting Crowns sang:
Not because of who I am, but because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done, but because of who You are
As of late we’ve been working on documentation that establishes our ministry as a whole, and in the process of composition and clarification, it cannot be avoided – it’s not all just what we say, or what we write; Rather, the true strength of a composition is seen in its consistent implementation.
I’m seeing real-time that in any organization, implementation of documentation always entails extra work, and involves additional resources – but I believe that if correct documentation is correctly executed, the effort will always be worth it.
Implementation has its role in (1) rooting out weak points and (2) setting standards in place, to avoid chaos, and to discourage impunity – as a lot of that’s been going on under leadership’s noses.
I believe the concept of Implementation against Impunity was a direction we received by way of meditation, and through the consequent counsel of the Holy Spirit.
Earlier today, I believe another concept is up for consideration: Restoration unto Responsibility.
We aren’t discounting the need for us to take responsibility to receive restoration and/or to work towards restoration; it’s also pointed out that we have been restored unto responsibility. Let me explain.
Yes, we have been made new creations, and all things continue to be worked out for our good, for we have believed and received in Christ, the ultimate demonstration of God’s love, and we consequently love God and are called according to His purpose and will. With this in mind we can say that in Christ we are restored, and we are being restored at the same time.
It is actually because of this that we are able to take responsibility for all that comes our way, according to the same capacity – we are able to act and react from our being made new, and we can take ownership in the same way our Father takes ownership to cause all that was meant for evil to be directed towards good.
We take responsibility for restoration, but also FROM restoration.
18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:18-27
I’m reminded yet again to (1) find my footing in the Words of the Lord, and (2) to allow the Spirit to establish my ways and paths. I’m reminded of what we went through a couple of days ago, regarding Movement and Foundation.
And speaking of Foundation and Movement, the Light from above is as important as the Rock beneath. One song that keeps coming back to us consistently in our worship team is ‘Sweeter’ by Lakewood, where we sing that every day with the Lord is sweeter than the day before… But here, we see that it’s Light that shines brighter than the day before, so we see clearly and vividly, further and further ahead of us, further and further around us.
And the more we see around us, the more we appreciate the Power that keeps us upright, and the Rock upon whom we stand. The Light shines, we move; We do not stumble as those in darkness, but we go forth, as the righteous, and as the just.
18 Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you.
20 And though the Lord gives you The bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers.
21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
22 You will also defile the covering of your images of silver, And the ornament of your molded images of gold. You will throw them away as an unclean thing; You will say to them, “Get away!”
23 Then He will give the rain for your seed With which you sow the ground, And bread of the increase of the earth; It will be fat and plentiful. In that day your cattle will feed In large pastures.
24 Likewise the oxen and the young donkeys that work the ground Will eat cured fodder, Which has been winnowed with the shovel and fan.
25 There will be on every high mountain And on every high hill Rivers and streams of waters, In the day of the great slaughter, When the towers fall.
26 Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun will be sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day that the LORD binds up the bruise of His people And heals the stroke of their wound.
Isaiah 30:18-26
…I suppose what’s being unwrapped and released during this week is that when we say we dwell on the Word and wait on the Spirit, we aren’t saying we aren’t moving. No, as we’ve mentioned before, we live and MOVE and have our being in Christ.
And lest it hasn’t already been so emphasized with the pairing of Movement and Foundation, we’ve just discussed other aspects of moving in Christ – Implementation against Impunity, and Restoration unto taking Responsibility.
It is as Isaiah spoke – we’re reminded, just as the world is constantly convicted by the Holy Spirit, of the way we should be walking in; And this is apparently more evident when we turn to the right or the left.
We’re reminded to move – our paths and ways have been set before us, and sure as perfect love casts out all fear, the Light stirs us out of laziness, clearing the fog of uncertainty, anxiety, and doubt.
I believe we’ve come to a point of saturation – our cisterns and storehouses are full.
We have and will continue to dwell on the Word of the Lord in this season.
We have, and will continue to wait on the Spirit in this season… But by the finished work of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, working in and around us, filling us as much as He restores us… We move as He moves, and He is with us as we move.
What a build-up, when maybe all I’ve been meaning to say is that the lines are drawn, and Christ is with us all the way. What’s left is to move, knowing that we are never without our Father.
Yeah. Forget everything else I wrote, and keep that in mind instead.
