Psalm 123 – June 3, 2026 (207/365)

Movement, and Foundation. Those two words are resonating with me right now.

Foundation is the power behind the Movement. Movement determines the direction of the Foundation.

Sounds familiar. Mission is Movement, Vision is Foundation.

Vision is Foundation? That only implies that the Vision is as much the baseline as it is the goal. It’s happened, and it’s happening.

Movement. The Mission is being fulfilled by way of things happening out of our control; The Vision is being clarified, and my eyes are being brought back to the Foundation, by way of people showing up out of nowhere. There’s still that hope that certain people show up out of nowhere, but what’s keeping me stable more than this yearning is the fact and observation that, well, much more than that is happening.

Movement. People are being moved out, and I’m not looking at it in terms of rejection, but more of transition. They’re moving on, they’re moving through.

Again, people are moving in out of nowhere. People are moving on in other aspects – career wise, and literally flying out. People are moving up, and going in deeper on certain things.

Movement. I’m also seeing it beyond people, but in things – documents, to be precise. Things are being clarified. Things neglected and being brought back to the light to be addressed once and for all. Things contested are being made more precise.

I don’t know, man, I’m just letting all of this out here, probably just to remind myself and to reiterate to myself that the power of the Foundation is getting more visible, as the Movement happens, by the movement of the Holy Spirit and/or by our own actions and reactions.

We’re getting some sort of traction, and this is me probably trying to make a big thing out of it, by emphasizing (to myself) that it’s not just a hiccup of stuff going on, but the beginning of many quality movements.

Rambling over.

Thank You, Father, for the reading of Your Word.

Psalm 123

Prayer for Relief from Contempt

A Song of Ascents.

1 Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us.

In this season, we dwell on the Word of the Lord. We wait on the Holy Spirit – and it’s as eyes of servants looking to the hand of their masters; Our waiting is as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress.

But looking at these verses from the context of Christ and His finished work, I say we wait on Him not until, but because He has had mercy on us. It just comes to mind that we wouldn’t have had the Lord as our Master, much less our Father, if He didn’t have mercy on us in the first place… and we certainly know and receive mercies new every morning, by way of the everlasting mercy and forgiveness demonstrated by Christ in His crucifixion, death and resurrection.

So in this day and age, we continue to wait on Him, expectant of mercy, BECAUSE of His mercy. We wait on Him with rejoicing and thanksgiving.

3 Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4 Our soul is exceedingly filled With the scorn of those who are at ease, With the contempt of the proud.

Contempt: The feeling or attitude of regarding someone or something as inferior, base, or worthless; scorn / The state of being despised or dishonored / Disgraced, shamed.

‘Contempt’: בּוּז / bûz / booz / From H936; disrespect: – contempt (-uously), despised, shamed.

In verse 4, the word ‘ease’ is שַׁאֲנָן / sha’ănân / shah-an-awn’ / From H7599; secure; in a bad sense, haughty: – that is at ease, quiet, tumult.

It’s no surprise that at these times, I also come upon an X post which says, not verbatim, that we should be thankful for enemies, because their existence means you’re on to something… or, something like that.

The flavor text for Rhystic Study (a notorious Common rarity card in TCG Magic: The Gathering) reads: Friends teach what you want to know. Enemies teach what you need to know.

The ‘movement’ I’m observing is not without my involvement, and, sure, this also means I’ve butted heads with certain folks, and I’ve needed to demonstrate grace by way of rebuke. This means I’ve probably made some enemies. But all the same, I am thankful, because through all of this, I am seeing the Lord’s mercy superior to shame, and the Father’s goodness and favor, greater than scorn and disgrace.

Also, take note – the Psalmist cries out for mercy from the Lord, when he could have asked for one or more out of many other things – relief from contempt, repentance upon the haughty, protection from the proud, and/or vindication from shame. With this in mind, it ought to be natural for us to continue to dwell on the Word of God, and wait on the Holy Spirit…

…and we shall be still, and know that God is God.

Amen.

So with all this in mind:

We continue to give thanks to the Lord for revelations, and His manifold faithfulness in all that’s going on.

We continue to praise Him, in and out of all situations and circumstances, knowing that He is always our good Father who never leaves nor forsakes us.

We sing in line with the bridge: Even when we don’t see it, our good Father is working. Even when we don’t feel anything, our mighty Savior is working, and He never stops working.

We shall always be at rest in Christ, knowing His power in quietness and trust.

All for the unity of His body, the expansion of His kingdom, and the utmost glory of His name.

Amen.
