[From The Notepad] Given To Give

Financial advisors say to spend less than you earn. Fitness instructors say to eat less calories than what you burn.
Matthew 10:8 says, ‘Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.’
We are blessed… Indeed, because of Christ’s finished work, we are unconditionally blessed! Our blessing are in all forms – finances, friends, health, opportunity, love and peace. Great as they are, we have them unconditionally, i.e. we did not earn these things, nor were we worthy of them… It was all paid for at the cross, and all that is left to believe, receive! Halleluyah!
A question arises: Do we give according to what we have received? How can we give what we have not received? The question is, how much have we received? Christ said He came to give us life, and life abundantly. He gave us life, and in abundance – everything! Friend, the moment we believe in our hearts that Christ gave us everything when we deserved nothing… Then, and only then can we give freely, with a cheerful heart, even to people who don’t deserve it!
“…and He took my place
knowing He’d be crucified
And You loved, You loved
a people underserving!”
– Hillsong, “To Know Your Name”
