I was left more than willing to answer today’s challenge, which asks the question: What has Jesus changed in your life?
Well… now that you ask me, there has been a LOT that has changed since I made the decision to really commit my life to Jesus Christ, and the primary change is just that – I strive, and oh, do I strive, to deny myself and to take my cross every day, walking and talking Jesus Christ, representing the Man who died on the cross for me and for the whole world to be saved. A preacher named Derek Prince summed it all up in his book (and I actually have yet to finish it):
The blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed me from all sin, and has redeemed me from the hands of satan (Ephesians 1:7, Psalm 107:2). The blood of Jesus Christ continually cleanses me (1 John 1:7). Only by the blood of Jesus Christ I am justified, made righteous, just-as-if-I’d never sinned (Romans 5:9). Only by the blood of Jesus Christ am I sanctified, made holy, set apart for the Lord (Hebrews 13:12). My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and I live for the glory of the Lord – satan has no right or claim over me and all that concerns me, by the blood of Jesus Christ!
On a more specific note, as Jesus Christ saved me from hell, He has set me free of my sinful nature – the self-glorifying, selfish, sexually immoral, cynical, arrogant, proud man addicted to pornography and the compliments of others? That man is dead, and though I may fall, the blood of Jesus Christ continually cleanses me. I am not free of the struggles of this world, but I know for a fact that our Lord ensures that everything that happens, happens for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.
I pushed for what I wanted when it came to love, and I ended up totally devastated. When I decided to totally surrender to the Lord, He gave me Pao. When I took Pao for granted, He brought me back to my senses – and I am just thankful to the Lord that His mercies are new every morning.
When I look at my failures in the past, the difficulties of the present, and the uncertainty of the future, I can only concur with what was said more than 2000 years ago:
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” – Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
It is not about us – it’s all for the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Holy One of Israel, the Ancient of Days who loved us so deeply that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to serve as the only possible pure sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. I am weak on my own. But with Christ, I can do all things for He gives me strength.
I am JB Lardizabal, and I am second. 🙂
I know there’s much more to say. But I suppose that will do for now.
