I know I just posted a weekly report but I suppose that there’s a whole lot more on my mind that needs to be released and absolutely has to get out of my mind and off of my chest before I do anything else, before I think of anything else.
But before that, well, God is good. I give praise and glory to our Lord God almighty, for He is good and He is good all the time. Indeed, in all our ways, we would do good to acknowledge Him, because He directs our paths… and, more importantly (for me, anyway), He establishes my thoughts.
Though I do with He’d establish a whole lot more. Anyway.
Lord, thank You for this time. This session. Thank You for Your presence, and for Your being with us, now and forever. Thank You for Your lovingkindness that endures forever, and Your mercies that are as high as the heavens are from the earth – Yes, thank You for these same mercies that You give to us, pouring out to us in abundance with each and every morning. Your mercies ARE new every morning, new and FRESH.
Thank You, Lord, for Your fresh mercies that overtake and overwhelm all that we’re doing, all that we’ve gone through, all we’re going through – thank You for Your mercies, ministering to us, nurturing us, healing and restoring us. Thank You, Lord, for Your mercies, and for all You have done for us to claim all these things.
Continue to minister to me, to all of us, to those who happen to be reading this – Minister to all of us, in our reflection, and in our meditation. We claim the promises of Your Word, specifically where You say that we are established, as trees planted by the riverside, whenever we dwell on Your Word.
And as always, be praised in the highest, be glorified to the maximum, in this undertaking, and in all things. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
There’s a lot going on in our country, a lot going on in our city. There’s a lot going on in our neighborhood, and in this household. There’s a lot happening for me personally, just as there is a lot happening to those who are under the same roof as I am.
My Mom, in particular – she’s been feeling pretty weak and she’s been coughing for days now, and as an answer to my grief, I am thankful to the Lord for my brother Kip, who was quick to remind me, as I was reporting Mom’s condition to him, ‘What are you saying about it?‘
That’s right, instead of asking what I expected from him (‘What are you going to do about it?‘), he asked me what my thoughts were – and, more specifically, what my words were for this situation. It took my brother to remind me that, yes, these are times we ought to be trusting God more, and I’ve even come to the realization that these are times we ought to be praying more, and even crying out to the Lord more… But, well, in spite of all existing skepticism, these are also times to be declaring more.
Indeed, in times when those who speak the Truth are getting shot in the neck, and when the earth is shaking and the clouds are falling upon us… In these times when those closer and closer to our hearts are either getting sick or being attacked in other ways, we ought to be proclaiming to ourselves and to the world:
No weapon formed against us would prosper.
A thousand may fall at our side, and ten thousand by our right hand, but we will not fear the evil.
Only with our eyes shall we see the punishment of the wicked.
We declare, and proclaim, to ourselves, to each other, and to the world, that by Christ’s finished work,
We are brought to lie down in green pastures, we are led beside the still waters.
Our souls are restored, and we are led into the paths of righteousness for His’ name’s sake.
By Christ’s finished work,
Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we shall fear no evil, for our Good Shepherd is with us, and His rod and His staff comfort us.
Though we make our bed in Sheol, and though set sail to the ends of the earth, He is there with us.
We declare, and proclaim to ourselves that He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies – indeed, may they gnash their teeth as our heads are anointed with oil! May they pant in envy as they see our cups run over!
We confess before the world that through Christ’s finished work, we are bold to claim that goodness and mercy follows us all the days of our lives – we are dwelling in Him, and He is in us, now and forever.
See, here I was thinking I’d go ahead and list down all of my troubles and declare Scripture as my comeback line… But, well, as you can see, the Holy Spirit that leads us into all Truth would rather have us declaring Truth ALL the (freaking) way.
We are thankful, we are joyful, and we rejoice, indeed – for we move FROM the victory of Christ, FROM His finished work, and not FOR the blessings.
We rejoice in our salvation.
Yes, we rejoice in the salvation we have through no less than Jesus Christ, and His finished work. Surely as we are convicted (by the Holy Spirit) of our righteousness, so we are constantly reminded of the faithfulness of our God, who doesn’t stop as speaking and letting faith arise in our hearing – No, I have reason to believe that He moves in the hearts and minds of man.
Or, is that what it is? By His Spirit constantly convicting the world (and, therefore, each and every one of us in this existence) of sin (or, our absolute hopelessness on our own, our propensity towards the flesh and towards darkness, our destiny in eternal fire), of judgment (or, the absolute justice and recompense of God against evil and death, and the infinite superiority an eternal God over finite creation), and of righteousness (or, the absolute reconciliation and salvation of all who believe in Christ and His finished work)… Is God moving in the hearts and minds of all men and women, even those beyond our reach, and those who have cut themselves off from us, by way of the consistent, faithful conviction of the Holy Spirit?
If so, oh, may the Lord just continue to project His goodness and greatness, His grace and His glory in and through each and every one of us in the body of Christ, that more and more people may not perish but come to repentance – that is, into the destiny-changing knowledge of Christ and His finished work.
Lord, thank You for Your Word, and thank You for the revelations that follow as we dive into Your Word. Thank You for the knowledge, the clarification that comes as we think about Your goodness, and as we take time to meditate on Christ and His finished work, and what it means for us even in this wretched reality.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart (continue to) be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Let there be light.
Let there be deliverance from sickness and from danger, as we proclaim our trust in You.
Let there be reconciliation between hearts, and let there be clarification in our minds, as Your Spirit directs us to meditate more and more on You and Your Word.
Oh, let the mountains be moved, as we hear Your Word, and as we speak Your Word.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. – John 6:63
Father, thank You for this time. Thank You – it’s raining outside. You’re bringing rest and refreshing upon the soil and the land – You rain Your grace in our own lives. Oh, You pour out Your grace and glory upon all aspects of our lives.
We cast our burdens upon You, and we give thanks, for You give us rest. Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light.
We cast our anxieties unto You, for You are always thinking about us – Not content to hear us, but to listen to us. Not content to listen to us, but to have an active interest in the life You’ve given us – a life beyond mere existence – in this fallen world.
Indeed, in You we have been made, and in You all of our being and all that concerns us is being held together.
Thank You, Lord, for the miracles. For the breakthroughs. For mountains that are moved. I personally claim reconciliation – it is my desire to be reconciled. You know what I’m talking about. You know who I’m talking about.
Thank You, Lord, for You are the power to make things happen beyond belief… I believe this, just as You are the peace that goes beyond all understanding, for everything that happens to us.
MOVE. Move in a mighty way, and in a way only You could, Father.
And through it all, be glorified.
In the healing, be glorified.
In the restoration and reconciliation, be glorified.
In the deliverance and the rescue, be glorified.
In the progression, in the breakthrough, in the miracles – be glorified.
Thank You, Lord, for everything.
Thank You.
