The Voice of Glory – November 29, 2023 (293/365)

Psalm 29

Ascribe to the LORD Glory

A PSALM OF DAVID.

Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.

Glory and strength indeed, to our Heavenly Father. In this evening where there is the desire to just keep on typing, in spite of my feeling exhausted, and empty… Indeed, it is during these times that I can especially say, yes – He is MY strength, and therefore, He is MY glory. Give Him glory, oh all who read this; Give Him glory, oh my soul – For the God of all gods, He IS Strong… and it is because of His power that we ascribe, we attribute, we find it proper and we find it in our desires to say He is worthy of ALL glory; His name is worthy of all glory.

God is glorious, and He is holy – yet, in His holiness, how can we ever hope to even be in His presence, much less stand in His presence? Friends, it’s in these moments when we remember, yet again – that it’s because of Christ and His finished work that we are able to enter, dwell, and lavish ourselves in His holiness… in the SPLENDOR of His holiness.

And in spite of all I’m going through, in spite of all that I’m seeing, in spite of all that I recognize that is far beyond my control – In spite of my failures and mistakes, I still find myself worshipping the Lord – yet not I, but the Holy Spirit alive in me, not I, but Christ who lives within me. Thank You, Jesus!

The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD, over many waters.

The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox.

The voice of the LORD flashes forth flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

The same Voice that spoke light into existence in the beginning of all Creation, is the same voice that brought the waters forth – from the sky, and from the depths of the earth. As He reigns over all, so His voice reigns over the waters… Proclaiming glory, and in the process, making it known to all Creation that its Creator is absolutely powerful, and as such, absolutely majestic. By the voice of our Father, the earth shakes from side to side, and leaps up and down – The voice of God brings forth the flames, and shakes the wilderness; It’s the same voice that causes the pregnant deer to give birth, yet also brings entire forests down. By the voice of the Lord, the existence of all creation begins, or ends.

I give God the glory, and ascribe all strength to Him – For indeed, what a Savior we have in Christ, and what a Father we have in God… what a Friend we have, in the Holy Spirit! For after all this thinking, I wouldn’t find it blasphemous to say that it is the Holy Spirit, who is alive in us, that causes us also to speak – to speak, that is, with authority, empathy, and wisdom, just as a soldier communicates to His mates. The Holy Spirit is alive, and in Him I live, move and have my being – He is the One that shakes what must be shaken; He breaks what needs to be broken, and heal what needs to be restored.

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD sits enthroned as king forever.

May the LORD give strength to his people!

May the LORD bless his people with peace!

In my last post I mentioned, that Christ is the Peace – He is THE Peace that is power in all my external circumstance, and He is THE Power that is the peace in all my internal conflicts. Here, we see, that it isn’t too uncommon for us to speak on both strength and peace, as the Psalmist prays for God’s people to constantly be aware of all the strength and peace.

…and even if I don’t ‘feel’ His peace, or if I don’t ‘experience’ or see His strength, that’s beyond what we should be desiring – all that’s needed from us is to TRUST in Christ, and in so doing, we give thanks to Him. And indeed, I trust in the Lord, considering we’re turning into a new month in a little more than 24 hours from now. I trust in the Lord, for all the plans I have to post in this month, in recognition to this great year.

Yes, I trust in the Lord, for all I’m planning to do, and all the communication I need done, before, during, and after the first days of December. I trust in the Lord to both give me revelation and to BE my revelation in all the planning, and in all the consideration.  In fact, now that I recall, yes, I trust in the Lord, with this new heart that I have, I trust Him with ALL of it; I may not understand everything that is going on, but that’s okay, because what’s better is simply to give thanks to God, who DOES know the end from the beginning, and down to the most miniscule of details of our existence.

I trust in the Lord, even if I am dozing off right now, and even if half of me is sleepy – I can’t stop giving thanks to our Father, for indeed, we have placed our trust in Him, and He has NOT put us through dishonor.

Father, it’s ALL You, and I just want to give thanks, for just reformatting and reprogramming this mind, even right now. Cleanse all the filth, so I have space to think of the right, life-giving stuff. In the place of the filth, let Your perfect love cast it all away.

And there it is – for all the power and glory expressed in the voice of the Lord, He DOES tell us He loves us, and He goes beyond shaking the earth, and stripping the forests to show us this – No, the most perfect example of His love, the greatest manifestation of all the Words our Father had to say – look no further than Christ.

In Christ I trust, and I give Him thanks.

I’m sorry, I don’t think I made a whole lot of sense on this one, but I just wanted it all out of my system. There’s a lot to work on!

Until the next post, God bless you. It’s time to rest.
