I was up early this morning, but then I went back to bed. That’s the only time any alcohol left in my system relented. Red wine is a mocker in that sense, yes?
Anyway I walk out of the room at around 10 or so. It’s Manang’s birthday and we greeted her, and Mom also wanted to leave early so we could have lunch before they go out to market. So I write Day 17, and I also work on the Good News post, backing up my own photos, tending to the plants and cleaning up the room, taking a bath before we head out by around 12pm.
We get to the side of the building where Pinares is, we go as far as parking, and I’m told first to move my car, and then we’re told that Pinares is closed until the 21st. So we drive out, and then find out that Good Taste parking is full, and the line to get in is out the door. Ditto Central Park and Mang Inasal. So we decide that they go to the Market first, and then I’m told that they’ll be going to SM too. They agree to my suggestion for us to have lunch at SM after their market chores.
I get to Good News and I set up the laptop, and start to write. See the Recall Total article for what I came up with. It was nice but I feel I have much more to churn out of my chest. It’s one of those seasons. In between writing I’m spending time with the folks there, while also looking online for options on a NAS, especially considering that my system of external HDs shouldn’t be the only backups I have of my photos.
The Lagasca folks show up and pretty soon their crew comes in, apparently for a practice they have for a dance number. Mavin asks for help in picking up shirts for the anniversary and I tag along, buying fresh grey and black v necks. Manang texts while I’m at the print shop so we hurry back soon as we have the goods we went there for, and I pack up and drive off.
I pick Mom and Manang up and we head to the SM. No parking at the basement, so I drop them off and head off to the other parking section. First time for me to park there. Lots of spaces. That parking area is huge. I make my way inside SM and I confirm Manang and Mom are at the supermarket. So I pick up some Colby Jack cheese and Kewpie mayonnaise, as well as coconut oil to add to the shopping cart, before I head out and walk around. Not all the stores are open. I do see a punching bag with a stand, and I’m walking around the mall doing all sorts of contemplation and thinking against being impulsive, to follow the 24-hour rule, or to sleep over it before buying. Besides, I didn’t have cash on hand. It was so beautiful, though, and I was already imagining myself using it.

I go to Octagon as well, to see if they had a NAS for sale, just in case. As expected, they only had external HDDs and the like. I walk around a little more, shooting here and there, looking for places we can eat as well.
Manang and Mom finally finish at around 4:30-5pm, and Mom says Manang is okay with a Chickenjoy bucket, since they still needed to go buy a cake (for September birthday celebrants, Mom says), as well as lard. I drop them off at Sunshine and head over to Jolibee drive thru for the chicken. Good timing as the chicken was ready, and they were waiting for me at Sunshine. The sun was setting, and the sky was being colored, so I thought passing through Bakakeng on the way home would be a good idea, but when we got there the clouds overwhelmed the sun and the sky.
We get home, drop all the stuff we got, and I have dinner. Take note that I didn’t eat anything for at least 24 hours now and I was actually thinking of just taking a shake or something, but well, Chickenjoy. I had that, watched Dragon Ball. Played a bit of Fallout before heading down, to see that Mom still wanted to worship, so we did.

Considering that we need to be up early tomorrow – Mom and Manang are hosting a breakfast, while I’m headed out to join that Blessing The Community event – I’m going to stop things here and rest. Finished the last of the Zzquil.
