Prayer Meetings continue on Thursday.

  1. Jesus’ Body Afflicted For Our Healing
  2. Jesus’ Body Broken for Wholeness

  • Matthew 8:17 (referencing Isaiah): “This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.'”
  • 1 Peter 2:24 (ESV): “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to be righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”
  • 1 Corinthians 11:24 (ESV): “And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.'”
  1. Jesus’ Blood declaring our Forgiveness

  • Luke 22:20 (ESV): “And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.'”
  • Matthew 26:28 (ESV): “For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • 1 Corinthians 11:25 (ESV): “In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.'”
  • Ephesians 1:7 (ESV): “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”

  • Hebrews 9:22 (ESV): “Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”

His blood washes, forgives, makes righteous, and declares us blameless.

5. We are called to receive our righteous inheritance.

  • Hebrews 4:16 (ESV): “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
  • Hebrews 9:15 (ESV): “Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.”
  • Psalm 103:2-5 (for preservation, healing, wholeness, prosperity in the righteous inheritance): “Bless the Lord, O my soul… who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Five things won by Christ; Because of Christ’s victory at the cross, we celebrate our healing, our wholeness, our forgiveness, our righteousness, and our inheritance.

By His Resurrection, Christ has given us victory over our past, present and future.

  1. Christ rose from the dead, confirming the old has passed away and we are New Creations.
    • 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.2 Corinthians 5:17
  2. Christ rose from the dead, affirming our faith, and giving power to our testimony.
    • 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.Revelation 12:10-11
  3. Christ rose from the dead, so we have hope for the future.
    • From 1 Corinthians 15: But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
    • The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

We are New Creations, meaning we have the mind of Christ.

We have the mind of Christ, meaning He thinks with us as we think in Him.

We have the mind of Christ, meaning we see things now as pointing to Him.

13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”

18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?”

19 And He said to them, “What things?”

So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.”

25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.Luke 24:13-27

We have the mind of Christ.

The mind of Christ points us to the Word.

The Word points us to Christ.

Let’s keep going.
