Rest Safe In His Word (from March 8, 2026) (100/365)

Stuff from last Sunday

It’s the Australian Banksia plant that spreads its seeds during or after wildfires. Similarly, when we’re under fire, that’s where we can also propagate the Word.

Testify of last Friday midnight:

  • Psalm 91, The first thing to do is to rest. When we kept saying this Psalm during Covid days we were more fixated on where it says that the evil will not touch us, nor shall the plague come near our dwelling places; But here, we’re emphasizing what was mentioned in the first verse: Dwell in His secret place, abide in His shadow.
  • We’re reminded, as our brethren in the Middle East have been reminded: We in the body of Christ have the distinct privilege of placing our rest in the Lord. He is our Refuge and our Stronghold.

Testify of fruit:

  • Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.John 15:4

How do we abide? Meditate on His Word.

We bear fruit when we meditate on the Word.

  • Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalms 1:1-3
  • We don’t just get into the Word of God because our Pastors told us to. In fact, we don’t have to be Pastors to take advantage of all the promises of the Word! And it’s not just something that we have as a benefit – or, not for our own benefit, anyway: The people within our reach are blessed when we take the Word in, and bear fruit in our own situations.
  • Again, it must be emphasized and clarified: We aren’t merely talking about ‘blessings’ connected to this reality, when we talk about fruit. Sure, money, power, influence, favor, and ultimately an improvement of our circumstances is really nice, but the ‘fruit’ we’re really bearing is of infinite value, or has eternal impact – these are the gifts and fruits of love that casts out fear, peace beyond understanding, patience that endures, joy unspeakable, and so on.
    • These are fruits that we bear no matter where we are, what we’re doing, and who we’re with.

We are reminded of our cleanliness when we meditate on the Word.

  • Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.John 15:3
  • We may open the Bible with a sense of condemnation, but given enough time, we would be convicted accordingly. We would be reminded of how the world is filthy of sin due to its unbelief. We are also assured of the eventual ultimate judgment of the enemy. Finally, we are convicted and assured of our cleanliness, and our righteousness; We are reminded of our constant right-standing with God, that we can call Him our Father, even if we do not see Christ.
    • When we meditate on the Word, we are actively allowing the conviction of the Holy Spirit to minister to us… and part of that conviction is the Word cleansing us, and our righteousness by Christ’s blood.

We receive revelations and testify when we meditate on the Word.

Testify of how we were before we mediated on the Word.

  • From my own personal reflections, I remember Psalms 36:1-4

Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.

He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.

Testify of last Thursday night, where we started asking each other about the Word for your week:

  • Something that came up, with international conflict, national instability, local groaning, circumstances in the congregation, assault against the family, and personal yearnings in mind:
  • Psalms 33:18-22

Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,

that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.

Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.

Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

  • Place your trust in the Lord, and not in man. Love one another, because Christ loves us so much.

And it all comes together. Testify of last Sunday, when Pastor Joedy graced our shores:

Christ’s blood shed unto our Salvation

Our Salvation unto our Identity

The Authority from our Identity

The Word of our Authority

Closing:

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Revelation 12:11

Wait on the Lord. Trust in the Lord. Rest in His presence – Abide in His shadow, and dwell in His secret place.

Meditate on His Word, and be nourished. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you, to convict you of the Truth no matter what the facts scream into us.

Allow the Holy Spirit to convict you as He convicts the rest of the world – Of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; That all who take it in would continue to be transformed by the renewing of their mind.

Rest in the Lord and on His word, for He is our Refuge and our Fortress.

Overcome. Go forth and conquer, by the blood of Christ, and by the word of your testimony.

All for the unity of the body of Christ, for the expansion of His Kingdom, and for the utmost glory of His name. Amen.
