Wisdom, Unto Strength (Ps/Prov 24) – February 24, 2026 (64/365)

Had to drag myself out of bed today. Actually, I had to drag myself to do what I said I’d be consistent in doing on the daily.

There was also the temptation to go straight to what I wanted to do… but here we are, more or less halfway through the routine I set up, still not enthusiastic about it, but right now just thankful that it’ll all lead towards something.

‘But, sir, all you’re doing is writing. Aren’t there bigger things for you to be doing? What happened to all the plans and all the ambitions you had when you had a little more in your pocket?’

It’s crazy that these sorts of thoughts are distinct nowadays. Nevertheless, first, there is no condemnation in Christ, and nothing can ever separate me from our Father’s love. He is for me and not against me, and I believe He is faithful to work all things for my good.

Yeah, being honest, I’m not in the best of days right now, I’m not in my prime. But, again, it’s the LORD who takes care of me, and it’s the Lord who guides my steps, establishes my steps, and directs my paths. Again, my trust and my hope is in the Lord.

Not sure why this is all going on in my head today. Prayer helps. The Word will certainly help.

Thank You, Lord, for the reading of Your Word.

Psalm 24

The King of Glory

A PSALM OF DAVID.

1 The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,

2 for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

The One who established the fullness of the earth is the One who is with me. And as He is with me, in all things, and in all ways, all the time, I give thanks, because He is also the One who establishes my thoughts and directs my steps.

Through Christ I have been re-born, and through Christ all of me is held together. All of my being, all that concerns me, all of me is under the watch of my Good Shepherd, who takes good care of me.

3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.

5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah

We give glory to Christ, whose hands are clean, and whose heart is pure. We do not lift our souls to what is false, nor do we swear deceitfully… Simply because Christ is the Truth, and the Way and Life.

And speaking of Life, He is our blessing. The King of Kings is our Blessing of blessings. He is who we desire, and He is who we received as our premiere reward.

We thank God for Jesus, who became sin in order for us to say that we are the righteousness of God… and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to celebrate and gain all we can from our forever reconciliation with Him;

Knowing we’ve been reunited with Him and reconciled with Him, we seek Him all the more, and we seek His face.

We are not compelled, nor are we following any demands – we seek His face out of the intimacy with Him that Jesus paid such a great price for us to enjoy. We’re in His presence – to seek Him is to revel in His presence, and vice versa.

This is why we worship with music and song. Not as we used to believe (‘for His presence to come down’), but because we revel in His presence, and much revelation is to be had.

7 Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!

9 Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah

Hail to the King of Glory, who is also our Father. Our good Father, who does not hold back in revealing more and more of Himself to us, that we would enjoy Him all the more.

Today, this seems to be the theme. To enjoy His presence.

We enjoy the presence of the King of Glory; The One who has saved us, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We enjoy the presence of the Maker of the Earth, who established its fullness upon the seas, established upon the rivers.

To Him be all the glory and praise, today, and forever. Amen.

We give thanks to our God and Father, who is always with us, encouraging us, and keeping us together. He is our Firm Foundation.

3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established;

4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.Proverbs 24:3-4

I should probably have this framed somewhere. But on the other hand, we are thankful because the Word can be condensed to one, or two words: Jesus Christ, or Jesus. Or Christ, sure.

In this case we build our homes by the wisdom that comes from Jesus; our rooms are filled with – take note – precious riches, and pleasant (emphasis on pleasant) riches.

One thing I remembered thinking is that people with money have just as many problems as people who don’t have money. So it’s not really about how much riches we have, more than it is how pleasant they are.

So is this a lesson of prioritizing quality of quantity? Probably not. It’s more of where (or rather, Who) it comes from. Fortunately, every good thing comes from God, and He adds no sorrow to it.

Therefore, by Christ our rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant, good and sorrow-free riches.

And, well, maybe this isn’t about quality versus quantity or vice versa – see, not only are our rooms adorned, but FILLED with said pleasant riches.

Oh, we pray, giving thanks to the Father, for through all this, it’s not the house and the riches that we are thankful for, more than the Wisdom and the Knowledge we have – all in Christ.

We place our attention or direct our thanks to God; Not so much on the blessings, but more on our Father, from whom it all flows.

5 A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might,

6 for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. Proverbs 24:5-6

Here’s a nice Mission statement. If we want to fulfill the personal Vision we receive from God, then we would do well to take in wisdom and knowledge, and in so doing, we are strong, and we get stronger.

But in our striving to better ourselves, there is even more wisdom to be found in consulting with others, and to enjoy collective knowledge by way of counselors.

We fulfill our Visions, and we have victory when we strengthen ourselves and each other.

Keeping it short today, for some reason. Let’s not lose hope, friends.

Let’s continue to enjoy the presence of God, and let’s continue to receive wisdom and knowledge that only comes from Him.

The blessing of God Almighty – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – be upon us and remain with us always. Amen.

Strength and vigilance.
