From the Notebook, last night and this morning.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.Proverbs 15:3
Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure with trouble.Proverbs 15:16
The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.Proverbs 15:29
(hopping to yesterday’s Proverbs)
In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.
Proverbs 14:26-27
While I’m typing all of this, I’m considering that there seems to be a connection between the fear of the Lord and our remembering how we have been cleansed from all sin in 2 Peter 1:5-9, where Peter says that anyone who lacks faith (and all we ought to diligently add upon it) is ‘shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins’
So if the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, so remembering our cleansing is the beginning of faith? I suppose it matches with our remembering of Christ, who guaranteed our forgiveness, and who also happens to be the Author and Finisher of our faith.
In Christ we have a healthy fear of the Lord – who, by His death and resurrection, demonstrated His absolute glory and power over all creation.
By the power of the Holy Spirit we are constantly convicted of our righteousness, and the forgiveness of our sins.
Amen. Moving on.
Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, But what is in the heart of fools is made known.
The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, But his wrath is against him who causes shame.
Proverbs 14:33, 35
The king’s favor is toward those who understand the fear of the Lord; It is, after all, the beginning of wisdom.
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.Psalms 14:1
Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
O my soul, you have said to the LORD,
“You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
As for the saints who are on the earth,
“They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god;
Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,
Nor take up their names on my lips.Psalms 16:1-4
Our delight ought to be on the saints who are on the earth. We are here and still here for them and the rest of the world, after all. Remember Philippians 1:21-24.
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.Philippians 1:21-24
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.
I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:5-11
Thank You, Father. You are my Counselor. You have given me counsel. You have given me a new heart, one that instructs me even at night, even in the darkness. I have reason to believe and proclaim that I have comfort in distress, peace beyond understanding, even in pain.
Thank You, Father. You are both before me, and by me. Things unravelled before us, but even so You are always before me.
Thank You, Father. Though the earth shakes and we are assaulted, all the same, we shall not be moved. We shall not be moved because You are at my right hand. Halleluyah.
In a world uncertain, without guarantees; In a world chaotic, and even against us; Still, we are glad, and we rejoice in hope.
You brought Christ from the dead; He rose from the grave because You did not leave His soul in Sheol. You did not allow Him to see corruption.
So as Christ told Martha, we who believe in Him, though we may die, we shall live.
We are alive in the path of life.
We enjoy His presence which is fullness of joy.
We are at His right hand, where there are pleasures forevermore, which I believe are also pleasures the enemy could not steal or take away from us.
We have Christ, now and forever. Christ has us, now and forever.
Nothing can ever separate us. Nothing can separate us from the love of our Father.
He is always for us, and not against us.
He causes all things to work for the good.
He makes all things work together for our good.
His love never changes, His love never fails.
He never sleeps, He never slumbers, that we lie down in peace and sleep; He alone makes us dwell in safety.
All honor, glory, praise and power to our God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now, unto forever.
For the LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD has received my prayer.
Now, all our enemies are ashamed and greatly troubled. Now, they turn back. Now, they are ashamed suddenly. (Psalm 6:9-10)
(Indeed, ) Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels;
Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, For they have rebelled against You.Psalms 5:10
…
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
Psalms 5:11-12
We often quote John 10:10 but there’s value in looking at the verses before it so we have more context.
7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.John 10:7-10
(Therefore) The thief came before Christ, and the thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy. The sheep does not hear the thief.
We entered by Christ, and we are saved. We will go in and out and find pasture.
Indeed, He leads us to lie down in green pastures, and by the still waters. He restores our souls. He came that we have life, and that we have it more abundantly.
We may not hear the thief who comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. However, we hear the voice of the Good Shepherd; He knows us, and we follow Him. (John 10:27)
(reading on in John 10) God, our Father, has given us to Christ; though we die, we shall live, for He gave us eternal life; and we shall never perish, and no-one shall snatch us out of His hand, or our Father’s hand.
Thank You, Father. The enemy comes to snatch and steal from us, but we will not be snatched from Christ, nor shall we be stolen from You, Lord.
Though money be stolen and/or we are blocked and rejected by those we love, we ourselves will never be snatched away. We will never be blocked or rejected by Christ, or our Father.
Indeed, better is nothing with the fear of the Lord. We shall not want, indeed.
Magnified, glorified, be thy Holy Name.
Thank You so much, Father. Thank You so much, Jesus.
Halleluyah. Halleluyah!

The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the spirits.
Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.Proverbs 16:1-3
Not merely my works, Father, but the works for today – This whole day is Yours, Father, given to You; Acknowledging You this whole day, that You would make it whole. Thank You, LORD.
In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil.
When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Proverbs 16:6-7
Father, I thank You for Jesus, through whom I am confident that I am also your beloved child, in whom You are well pleased.
Yes, the God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; The Creator of the Universe and of all things seen and unseen, the Maker of the heavens and the earth, infinitely powerful, eternally wise, all glorious and gracious; He is my Father, and by Christ and His finished work, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I am His child; I am His son.
This is my glorious Father, in whom I trust.
He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
Proverbs 16:20
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the LORD.Proverbs 16:32-33 = -1
(There was something else from Pastor Joedy but I suppose I’ll write about it when we talk again.)
Let’s all have a good and blessed week ahead.
Because of Christ, we are favored sons and daughters of the Most High.
Therefore, we shall see significant breakthroughs and substantial progression, and all shall glorify His name. In the name of Jesus.
