To God be the glory, great things He hath done!
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
and opened the life-gate that all may go in!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,
and give Him the glory, great things He hath done!
We continue to give God the glory, we continue to give thanks to our Father, and we go even harder, now that things are just escalated to such a difficulty level that it’s that much easier for us to give up on everything.
No, the darker the world, the greater we ought to proclaim the Light. The heavier the lies, and the more distractions there are, all the more should we be declaring and proclaiming the Truth.
It’s especially true considering that, in one recent Bible study, we’ve been talking about literally feeding on the Truth, and taking in the Word of God, seeing Christ in all of Scripture. And in another Bible study, yesterday actually, we’re in agreement that we should be living off of the absolute Truth that has been established in our lives.
The Truth is paramount. The Truth takes priority, as it always should have. At least, it’s come to that point for me.
Psalm 11
Faith in the LORD’s Righteousness
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1 In the LORD I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2 For look! The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?
4 The LORD is in His holy temple, The LORD’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
5 The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.
We continue to give glory and thanks to God, who is our Father, for Christ who is our very present Help, here and now. In situations with complications, we actually have less reason to stay silent, and more cause to cry out to the Lord, in whom we trust.
The enemy would try to stack fear upon fear on our heads, and will keep on going even mercilessly even when we agree with the lie to flee in terror. And, sure enough, we would see with our eyes, (detect with all our senses) how we are headed towards sure disaster, how a mountain of pain is ready to fall upon us, and/or how our enemies, strong and many, are ready to strike us down in a second…
…But, sure as it was revealed to King Jehoshaphat, so we’re reminded to jump into the frontlines, with nothing but praise and thanksgiving… AND confidence in the Lord’s mercies, which endure forever.
Today, with everything I have in mind, I choose to give thanks and praise to our God, for His mercies that are new every morning, and, as David acknowledges, I recognize and am in awe over His righteousness, and His favorable countenance upon us.
What am I babbling about? What am I droning on about? Just that in all of this chaos, I call on the God of peace, seeing Him as my steadfast and faithful Help at this time. I may not see how He moves, but I am sure He is moving – in all that concerns me, in all I choose to forget about, in all that I am concerned about.
Oh, let us place our faith in His righteous right hand, indeed. Let us take comfort in the Truth – that He upholds us in His righteousness, and WITH His righteousness.
Let us continue to proclaim His goodness and His word to the world, and in so doing proclaim His Truth into our own minds, into our own beings, and into all aspects of our own existence.
In our thanksgiving, let us continue to be in awe, knowing that He is at work in all things concerning us, working all towards the good – assured that as He loves us, so we love Him.
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
to ev’ry believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
that moment from Jesus a pardon receives!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,
and give Him the glory, great things He hath done!
I’m sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve been letting my mind out, and I’m aware of how rusty I’m seeming, how discombobulated and how messy I’ve been writing. Things have been going on, and I’m not about to complain, more than I am thankful that even during these times, there are actually many more reasons to praise God.
I believe it’s the same for all of us. God is good, and our Father is good and faithful, here and now, no matter how good, bad, or boring things are.
In cases of moving on from pain and rejection, we continue to see God’s peace and the Father’s acceptance.
In cases of waiting on good things to start, we continue to bear the fruit of patience – As Christ is patient and has always been faithfully patient with us, so we are able to be peacefully, powerfully patient in all our endeavors.
In cases of our being overwhelmed or intimidated, we continue to look to the hills, and recognize God as our Help; Yes, in times where we are being weighed down, the Maker of Heaven and Earth is with us, helping us.
In cases of our being tempted and sabotaged, in cases of our being lied to in greater volumes and levels, we do, as we do here – Take in the Truth deeper, and proclaim the Truth even louder.
Thank You, Father, for this time and this reminder. The rest of the day and week is Yours – be glorified in all of it. To the maximum.
