Feed On Jesus // CG Module 3

Using the Scripture, write down a prayer. We could start here.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope (confident/joyful expectation) of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.Ephesians 1:13-21
As always it is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing, and the words that Christ speaks to us are Spirit and they are life. (John 6:63) It’s our prayer and goal to see Jesus in the Word, for the Spirit and life to be released on all of us.
On feeding on the Word – what are the 3 symbols/signs in the Bible of feeding? Manna. Feeding of the 5000. Bread. Jesus, the Bread of Life. Water and wine. Water, the Holy Spirit. Wine, celebration.
Symbol to talk about today – Partaking of the Tree of Life.
9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9
(Every tree has its benefits)
22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.Genesis 3:22-23
From the Scofield Study Bible: It would have been tragic for man to live an endless cycle of death.
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.John 17:3
Eating of the tree of Life is eternal life, and Christ gives eternal life. ‘You will live forever‘ versus ‘You will surely die‘. I’ve always maintained that we could not handle the knowledge of good and evil, much so that we really would die. Much so that we fall short of God, and are disconnected from Him as Father, and, again, we would die.
7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes (TPT: The one whose heart is open)I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’Revelation 2:7
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.Revelation 22:1-2
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.Proverbs 4:20-22
Christ was nailed to a tree for us to partake of the Tree of Life. Christ took our curse.
Remembering the 7 last words:
They do not know what they do.
Today, you will be with Me in paradise.
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?
Woman, behold your son. ()
I thirst.
It is finished.
Father, into Your hands I commend My Spirit.
Understand the fall and the redemption.
What was lost in the Garden of Eden was redeemed by Christ.
Life flows from intimacy with Him. Not from our works but by the finished and complete work of Christ.
The flow comes from feeding on Him. Feed on Jesus who took the death we deserved. Feed on the Tree of Life.
Because of one man’s transgression, sin entered the world, and, apparently, we exited God’s glory. If faith came by hearing, sin came by transgression, beginning from our hearts (deceived by the serpent), expressed by the partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Now, we give God the glory. Because we’ve been given the reminders. We now labor to enter His rest. And if we want to work, we believe in the One whom He has sent.
If faith comes by hearing, then enemy, the serpent attacks our understanding. Religion and dissension ensued. Anti-repentance, or the opposite of repentance that leads to the opposite of transformation?
The Word is necessary. It is an essential, and a non-negotiable.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
God bless you!
