I do need that reminder, every now and then.
I need that reset when I lose my programming. When the projections outside are leaving too much of an impact, we’re going to need a reset. We’re going to need things taken out, things replaced, things clarified.
I am thankful because we have the Word of God to help us – I understand and acknowledge the critical role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, but I am making the assumption that He would concur when I say that this Scripture, this Word that we see and hear with our finite senses; It’s our link to the infinite, our portal into the eternal.
We can pray, we can sing and worship but apparently it all has its foundation in the Word.
And with that said, well, there’s sure to be a reset and reprogramming of significant value when we tune in to the divine, by way of the Word.
Thank You, Father, for the Word.
Psalm 21
The King Rejoices in the LORD’s Strength
TO THE CHOIRMASTER. A PSALM OF DAVID.
1 O LORD, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your salvation how greatly he exults!
2 You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
Truly, and indeed, it is in the strength and power of our Father that we rejoice in. It’s not the other way around – There is no lasting reason to rejoice in OUR power, because there IS no power, or at least no lasting power from our created being.
Considering that a good definition of power is the ability to get something done, it’s but normal that we rejoice in the salvation we have – our rejoicing and our praise is acknowledgement that we are saved, and God has saved us.
All the more reason for us to acknowledge Christ as Faithful and True – for not only is He the ultimate demonstration of God’s everlasting love, He is also the ultimate proof of the consequent Truth that God is our Father who is willing and able to redeem us – that our Father is, indeed, as the song goes; Mighty to save.
Father, thank You for Jesus – Thank You for Your love, and thank You for our salvation.
3 For you meet him with rich blessings; you set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
4 He asked life of you; you gave it to him, length of days forever and ever.
5 His glory is great through your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow on him.
6 For you make him most blessed forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.
What ‘glory’ we have is great, but it is, as we’ve mentioned, through the salvation we have in Christ. We glory in the Lord, for we are saved, and apparently, because we are saved, we are blessed. We are crowned, as in we are certified, validated; We are preserved, not merely existing longer, but length and quality added to our days, simply because Christ is our Life.
We aren’t merely crowned, but we are bestowed with splendor and majesty – and, lest we forget, our eyes are open always to the fact and Truth that Christ (Source of our glory) is with us, and it’s because of His presence that we shine.
Father, thank You for Jesus – Thank You for our salvation, and thank You for Your glory, splendor and majesty bestowed upon us.
Indeed, we bring ourselves to remember this, even during these times when we find our consistency and faithfulness in question. We thank You, Father, for Your presence – You ARE here, even as we figure things out; You’re here, and You’re ministering to our minds, bodies, souls and spirits, not allowing us to stay down but moving us from glory to glory.
Thank You, Father, that by the salvation we have through Christ, every day is absolutely sweeter than the day before, and we all behold our paths getting brighter and brighter unto the new day.
7 For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.
8 Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath, and fire will consume them.
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, and their offspring from among the children of man.
11 Though they plan evil against you, though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.
12 For you will put them to flight; you will aim at their faces with your bows.
Our Father is worthy to be praised, for He not only handles us with His glory, splendor and majesty bursting forth from the inside out, but He also keeps watch; He is our good, faithful Father who protects us.
We trust in our Father, and He ensures that we are standing on a Firm Foundation, always. Christ IS our solid Rock, and we shall not be moved, nor shall we be blown to and fro.
Indeed, it is as it says in another Psalm; That though war rises up against us, and though those deceived by the enemy would be bolder and more brazen in their attacks against us, we shall still find cause and reason to bless the holy name of the Lord.
Why? Because in spite of the sheer brutality the fallen world brings against us, God upholds us with His righteous right hand; By said hand He finds out everyone and anyone who calls themselves our enemies, consuming them with wrath and fire. He not only sets them alight, but cuts off their descendants as well.
Their offspring are destroyed, and their plans are halted; Their future is taken away from them as they flee from us in seven directions.
And so we are saved, and what a beautiful, complete salvation we have – We are ministered to from the inside out, so darkness flees and the power of sin and flesh is broken. Consequently, the hope of the enemy is completely shattered… and, as we always receive – No weapon formed against us prospers, no words said against us shall bear fruit.
13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.
Thank You, Father, for Your strength! Amen.
