I want to give God the glory for all His goodness, His glory and grace demonstrated and seen in our lives. We love Him and we love each other because of such an overwhelming love – THE Everlasting Love of our God which endures forever, and is for us, lavished upon us; Yesterday, today, tomorrow, and the next day, till the end of our days and beyond.
I give Him thanks for the love of our youth who made such efforts to appreciate the Pastors last Sunday, with their parodies. It’s something to be known. Like they knew our mannerisms, they knew our responses, and so on – a reflection of how, through knowing Christ, we know God beyond knowing about Him, but knowing Him in terms of relationships.
I give thanks to the Lord for Pastor Poppo, who shared from his heart last Sunday as well, regarding the need for repentance and a change in the way we’re thinking, moving specifically from idolatry. I love his definition of idolatry being beyond mere veneration of hand-crafted, man-made statues – He cut to the chase and reminded all of us that anything that we place our trust in more than God in our own lives – that’s an idol.
So it’s more than just statues. If our trust in people goes beyond our dependence on God, then those people are idols (Lol because they actually have ‘idols’ in Japan). Money and materials are idols.
I dare say ideals and concepts can also be idols. Our own knowledge can be an idol. And I could go on. But instead of idol hunting, I’d rather we go ahead and continue to pledge our trust in the Lord.
Let’s continue to sing praises to His name.
Let’s continue to give glory to His name.
Amen.
Psalm 34
The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God
A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.
1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Sound familiar?
I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered
I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered
I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered
That’s why I trust Him,
that’s why I trust in God, my Savior
the One who will never fail
He will never fail
Singing this in my head while the worship team leads the congregation in ‘Friend of God’ upstairs. I don’t know, I should be up there but I feel something else needs to come out.
I am thankful, because I maintain and claim and decree that our Father has heard me each and every time that I have called out to Him for help. And, yes, even if things aren’t going my way, in spite of my prayers, the truth still remains – I sought the Lord, we sought the Lord, and He heard us, and He answered us. I maintain that in anything, actually, in all circumstances, the answer has been Christ on the cross and His resurrection, three days later.
Therefore, the proof of our God hearing us and answering us is the Holy Spirit, whom the Word says is the guarantee and receipt of our salvation – Again, our salvation and our absolute reconciliation being the absolute answer to all our cries and all our complaints. Christ’s finished work is the eternal and timeless response to anything and everything we lift up to Him. That’s for sure.
And all comes from His finished work. Reconciliation unto peace that goes beyond all understanding, in all our loss and rejection. Righteousness unto confidence going beyond pride, humbly serving others above ourselves. Restoration in the spiritual bringing us to healing in our minds and bodies.
We give glory to the Lord, for the finished work of Christ was His eternal answer to which all responses are birthed from.
We sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered.
Because He answered, He answers.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.
8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
Let’s see how all of this goes. Will share this before sharing from ‘in Perfect Peace’.
Halleluyah, Amen.
