Psalm 20 – October 20, 2025 (337/365)

If you want it given to you, you gotta dish it out to others.

Actually, in our case, with the Holy Spirit, we want to bless others before we bless ourselves.

We look out for others, just as Christ looked out for us. And as He still looks to us, for us.

We want nothing but the best for each other… And we want no less than Christ – the best that has ever happened, and the best we could ever have.

Psalm 20

Trust in the Name of the LORD Our God

TO THE CHOIRMASTER. A PSALM OF DAVID.

1 May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!

2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion!

3 May he remember all your offerings and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah

We give thanks to the Lord, for He not only hears us, nor does He only listen to us – He answers us.

And just take that in. You have the Creator of the Universe and all that is seen and unseen, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – You have Him as your Father who answers you when you call, and protects you in the day of trouble.

Your Father – OUR Father helps us, with great intent and in response to all we raise to Him… He helps us, because we are highly favored.

4 May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!

5 May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions!

For a while now I’ve been saying stuff, like God responds according to His timeline and not according to our expectations. Now, I’ve been seeing these verses and I still say the same thing – God STILL responds according to His timeline, not according to our expectations, but deeper – He responds, in His infinite power and eternal wisdom, deeper than what we think is best and what we think is important, He responds to our heart – our heart which we don’t necessarily know completely about.

And lest we devote our energy into overthinking God’s moves, let’s rejoice over what He has guaranteed, and what He has made clear – Our salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yeah, I think I could subscribe to that – instead of speculating on what the Lord will do, let’s rejoice over our salvation, which He has done, once and for all.

As the crucified Christ was lifted, we shall set up our banners, proclaiming the reconciliation and salvation that comes only through Him, celebrating because all our petitions have been heard and have more or less been responded to – confirmed, by the empty tomb.

We entrust our hearts and all our plans to the Lord.

We lift our past, present, and future to Him. We lift all that we are concerned about, and all that concerns us, to Him.

We publicly proclaim all vulnerability and weakness, knowing that it is our God who is our Help, and our Strength.

He saves us and rescues us – as He has done so before, so He shall continue to save us, so He shall continue to rescue us, and the families we represent.

We stand in confidence and boldness, not out of our own strength and power, but because we are upon a solid Rock that shall never be shaken.

Our faith and trust in in the Lord, the name of the LORD our God.

6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

8 They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.

9 O LORD, save the king! May he answer us when we call.

In around an hour I’m headed back into the fray, and working again. I’m not trying to make a big thing out of it, just that I’d rather set my eyes on my Savior, who, even at my job, helps me.

And as I work, as I devote my focus and presence into the job, it is important to me to say what I said a little earlier – that the Lord takes care of everything else that I’m concerned about, which, for the moment, I need to steer away from.

I’m not resenting my job. I’m only saying I need Him with me there, just as I need Him everywhere else.

I thank God for the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of power, love, and sound judgment. He is not a Spirit of fear, but a Spirit of Truth that leads me into all Truth, glorifying the Lord, pointing me to the Word.

He is the Spirit of Comfort, the Spirit of Adoption that constantly reminds me of my function and identity as an adopted son of the Most High, part of the body of Christ.

In Him I live, move and have my being.

In Him I have been created, and through Him all that concerns me, all that I am is held together.

In Him I trust, and I shall never be put to shame.

I am greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved – all for the glory of His name.

Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Holy Spirit.

Thank You for Life, Love, and Light. Thank You for revelations, within split seconds and over the years.

Thank You for every breath I take, and every beat of my heart.

Thank You for always thinking about me; Thank You, that I could cast all my cares unto You.

Thank You, for I can come to You, for You are my Rest. You are my Home.

You are Strength and Power, as You are Wisdom and Knowledge.

Thank You, Lord, for everything. Amen.
