Entering His Courts – September 15-18, 2025 (305/365)

Come, Lord Jesus.

Come, Lord Jesus. You are my Rock and my Salvation. There’s a whole bunch of things I need help with here. A whole bunch of things that are causing me fear, causing me to call out for Your perfect Love.

There’s concerns from within. There’s the general anxiety that comes with the job. There’s the concern that follows all that’s going on while I’m focused on work. Oh, Lord, indeed, as countless singers and worshippers have sung and led in the past, I need You, oh, I need You.

Every literal hour, I need You, Jesus. With every breath I take and every beat of my heart. With every second and all that is going all literally around the world, oh, do we need You. I see You, here and now, as my very present Help in my time of need. You are faithful and true, and surely You are able to help us.

That’s right, Lord, not just me, but all I’m concerned about… All of us in Your body. Oh, won’t You explicitly demonstrate to all of us, here and now, how we have Your Mind? Pour the peace that goes beyond all understanding in us, and keep it flowing, Lord – we need peace, in our own hearts and minds first and foremost, especially in this increasingly chaotic world.

Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;

Naught be all else to me save that thou art.

Thou my best thought by day and by night;

Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

Where shall I go from your Spirit?

Or where shall I flee from your presence?

If I ascend to heaven, you are there!

If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!

If I take the wings of the morning

and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

even there your hand shall lead me,

and your right hand shall hold me.

– From Psalm 139

I am in particular awe and thankfulness today, for the omnipresence of our Father. The God of the Heavens is as much in the earth and present in all creation, as much as He is present on His throne in the heavens. He is in Sheol, as much as He is in the furthest parts of the sea.

Oh, what comfort it brings to my soul – That the hand that guides me, and the right hand that holds me here and now, as I work remotely; Well, He is just as present with the drivers, clients, and staff that I assist and serve, on the other side of the Pacific Ocean. Insofar as the Body of Christ on that side of the globe, my Father is sustaining them, keeping them safe, ministering to them… He is present with them as much as He is present with me. The Holy Spirit also continues to be faithful to all, whether believers or not, to convict all of us of sin, judgment and righteousness… all for God’s will to be done (that is, for none to perish but for many to come to repentance).

And if our Father is with our brothers and sisters that far away, we ought to take courage and comfort in the Truth that He is also with me, here, and also with everyone and everything I’m thinking about, everyone and everything that’s a whole lot closer than the USA. He’s keeping our loved ones safe, He’s working in hearts and minds – The Holy Spirit is at work with everyone we’ve thrown the towel about so long ago, and He has always been at work.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Be glorified right here, right now.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight,

O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.Psalm 19:14

We desire as the Psalmist desires, but we also celebrate, knowing that through our being brought to the new Covenant, this has been the case for us.

14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16

Through all this we give glory to our God and Father, for by the power of His Holy Spirit poured out upon us, indeed: The words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart is lovingly acceptable in His sight. I suppose that’s another way of saying that we have the mind of Christ – ultimately, no matter how vulgar we push ourselves to speak or think, it would all fade away, giving way to ‘whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, wherever there is any excellence, or what is worthy of praise‘ (Philippians 4:8).

I’ve come to believe that when we encounter great temptation, the Holy Spirit never backs down, nor does it lose faithfulness or consistency in convicting us of sin, righteousness and judgment: Reminding us that these temptations are not of us, but of this fallen world, that they would ultimately come to repentance… Reminding us that the tempter, the enemy of our souls will eventually face his ultimate end… and, most importantly, that even in said temptations (as urgent as stones to bread, as deceptive as angels coming to our rescue, and as tantalizing as the power and riches of the world) – we are fully reconciled and in absolute right-standing with our Father.

We’re also reminded that it is the finished work of Christ that has authored the faith in us to access His grace, even in this reality – we’re reminded that we’re first to submit to God, that we would trust in Him instead of on ourselves to resist the devil.

What do the faith of God (that has been authored into our being) and the mind of Christ (created in us with the rest of our being a new creation) have in common? We’re constantly reminded of having these things, as we are reminded of Light enduring in the darkness, Life beyond death, and Love casting out fear – We’re constantly convicted of this, and all we have in and through Christ, by no less than the Holy Spirit.

This is cause for us to continue to depend on the Holy Spirit, for what we’re working on, for what’s happened, and for what’s to come. We need to look on Him, and we act and react with Him. He gives us the words to speak and the thoughts to think.

Let us continue to trust and depend on the Lord. Let us continue to run to Him in our time of need. Let us run to Him for safety, for He is our Strong Tower.

Let us trust in the Lord, for those who do place their trust in Him shall never be put to shame.

Let us cast our burdens upon Him – Let us come to Him, and He shall give us rest.

Let us raise all things up to Him, in prayer, knowing that we shall be ministered to by peace that goes beyond all understanding.

Let us, in trust, continue to give thanks to Him in all things, at peace knowing that we are doing His will for us in Christ Jesus.

Oh, praise His name, now and forever! He is good, great, glorious, and marvelous.

I stand amazed in the presence

  Of Jesus the Nazarene,

And wonder how He could love me,

  A sinner condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful!

And my song shall ever be:

How marvelous! How wonderful!

Is my Savior’s love for me!

Come, Lord Jesus! Be glorified, right here, right now.

Amen, and amen.
