From The Notebook – August 2025 (297/365)

TL;DR

…and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [a]principality and power.

Colossians 2:10

Here’s stuff I’ve been scribbling on the handy-dandy pocket notebook, since I started working. And, yes, I’ve been writing more as of this month, August.

More in quantity, deeper, hopefully in quality… and more quality in depth, while I’m at it.

August 1, 2025

Praise and glory to the King of Kings, and to the Lord of Lords. He is good. He is great. He is my Light and my Salvation.

My God – Father, Son, and Spirit (F, S, S) – is the Strength of my life. My trust is in Him. My hope is in Him.

God is for me. God is not against us. He is with me. He never leaves me, He never forsakes me. He is always thinking about me. He cares for me. He likes me.

Oh, thank You so much, my God – My Father, my Savior, my Spirit! Be exalted in all that is going on in me, and around me!

Father, shine Your great and everlasting light around me!

Jesus, rise in Truth, and let the Truth arise in and around us!

Spirit, convict us! Remind us, continue to remind us of how absolutely forgiven we are.

Convict us always of our right standing with the Creator, who is now our Father!

Thank You, Lord! Thank You so much, Jesus!

Thank You so much, Holy Spirit! Halleluyah!

Restore to us the joy of our salvation.

Convict us of our righteousness.

Let faith come by hearing, and hearing Your Word.

There is no condemnation in You!

There is no shadow of turning with You!

Great is Your faithfulness, Lord;

Great is Your faithfulness!

Morning by morning, new mercies I see!

All I have needed, thy hands have provided!

Great is Your faithfulness, Lord unto me!

(I think this was a Thursday or Friday, and I was at a funeral service. We were singing hymns, and these look like lyrics that hit hard.)

Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, ‘It is well, it is well with my soul.’

Just one glimpse of Him in glory, will the toils of life repay.

(and this comes to mind while a word of encouragement and/or a word of thanksgiving from the bereaved, was shared)

I will remain confident in this: I will see the goodness of the Lord.

I set my hope on You, I set my hope on Your love;

I set my hope on the One who is the everlasting God!

Praise and glory to the King of Kings.

The Word for this season:

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Psalms 51:12

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 10:10

(This also comes up, while in meditation)

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:16-17

Letting the Word of Christ dwell in us richly… That’s our alternative, our answer to overthinking as members of the Body of Christ.

I’m reminded of Psalm 1:2; We ought not only to think about, but eventually, naturally delight in Christ (who is our “law of the LORD”, as He is the Word made flesh, who dwelt among us); We would do well to meditate on Christ, who is (our God’s) law, day and night.

I’m currently trying to think about how I can personally keep myself in this perpetual cycle of learning, unlearning and relearning the Word of Life in my life, and the Living Word as I intentionally go through the Bible.

I want to have Mentat-like ‘being-Bible’ integration; Not like Eli Soriano does it; I mean, I shouldn’t be ‘saving’ or ‘storing’ Scripture (like a database); I shouldn’t just be a Search Engine… Because this Word is so much more than words. It is, as Dox encourages, Life (John 6:63).

It still stands: I want to flow. I AM flowing, trusting God and thanking God. Moving the River, moved by the River: Christ, the Water of Life.

On Evernote, I started – and I intend to finish – documenting, let’s say, a huge chapter and season of my life (spanning almost half my life, actually); It’s all in the overall operation of determining once and for all, if it will remain a chapter to move on from, of if our stories continue together.

In the process I did not anticipate the apparent need for me to feature and mention another chapter of my life.. and this whole venture stretched out longer than anticipated. I didn’t think I’d be writing on that, too.

Stories and chapters are written, cleared, clarified; I can only write so much.

In all of it, my trust shall ALWAYS be upon the Author and Finisher of my faith. Our faith.

Yes, my Father, my Savior, my Spirit – Faithful to cause all things to work for the good.

Proverbs 5:1-2My son, pay attention to my wisdom; lend your ear to my understanding, that you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge.

Proverbs 5:21For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths.

1 Peter 5:6-7Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Proverbs 16:3Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.

All our work, all our care is upon Your mighty shoulders, my good Father. Thank You for helping us.

Be thankful for all that the LORD takes, and all that the LORD gives. It’s true. He gives and He takes away.

He takes our cares, He takes our works. He gives wisdom and knowledge. He gives understanding. He gives discretion.

Whether He gives or takes in a moment, or regardless of who initiates, He is ever, further glorified, just as we are further humbled and brought to awe.

Such is communion. Enjoying the presence of our Father, in awe of Christ and His finished work, alive in the Spirit; Moving, reacting, acting, responding, planning, thinking, feeling – in the Holy Spirit.

Paul Atreides had prescience. We in the Body of Christ have God’s presence; We are present with Him He is close to us. We are alive in Him, and He is alive in us.

Paul Atreides was known as the Lisan al-Gaib, or “The Voice from (the) Outer World”; We have the Voice of many waters, the Voice which caused the cedars of Lebanon to dance and skip. The same Voice which spoke light at the dawn of creation is the same Voice that spoke peace to the winds and the waves.

He speaks to us, for us, by us; He speaks in us, around us; He speaks by His Spirit, leading us into all Truth, convicting us of the Truth.

Oh, just to know that God is with me;

Just to know that I am with God…

To take in the price it took for us to enjoy this union, communication, and presence…

To see how absolutely real He is in our own personal lives, by way of the Holy Spirit;

To learn more of this absolute reconciliation we have, by way of the Bible…

Oh, just the peace that comes with knowing I’m with God, and my Father is with me.

It’s a great thought. A wonderful Life. A Life truly abundant. Grace truly abounds.

Through Christ, I have Life, and Life that abounds as Grace – Christ abounds in us.

Thank You, Jesus. Thank You for everything.

For Life superior to existence.

For grace beyond sin. Perfect love that casts out all sin.

Thank You so much, Jesus!

John 21:21-22Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, ‘but Lord, what about this man?’; Jesus said to him, ‘If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow me.’

Acts 1:6-8Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, ‘Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?’

And He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.’

Psalm 6:9 The LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

We have a God and Creator who is our Father, and not only is He present with us, but He hears us; Not only is He hearing us, but He listens to us.

Proverbs 6:6-8Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, providers her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

As Christ is thoughtful and has initiative towards us, so we are thoughtful, so we have initiative. Christ is humble unto us, so we are humble towards others. We think securely; That is, less about ourselves because we are well taken care of by Father, Son, and Spirit – Therefore, we can think more about the welfare of others.

Buzzwords as of late: Prayer. ‘Help me first’. Initiative. Systems. Diligence. Holy Spirit. John 6:63. John 10:10. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22. That one verse that says, ‘be diligent to know the state of your flocks

Also, ‘Restore to me the joy of my salvation‘, and 2 Peter 1:9 – Remember your cleansing, your forgiveness.

!!!IMPORTANT: You’re not just forgiven but cleansed. Makes sense, you are a clean, new creation in Christ Jesus.

I am clean and new. Clean and clear.

New and fresh. Fresh as His mercies.

ALIVE. Yes, dead to the Law, to flesh, death and sin.

ALIVE. Alive unto grace, unto the Spirit, unto Life, unto righteousness.

A New Creation in a New Covenant/Relationship, with a New Spirit.

Instead of complaining, we’re thanking God.

Before we set out on our own, we pray and acknowledge God.

Instead of staying in fear, we are basking in perfect, everlasting love.

We were dead and doomed to die in sin, now we are alive in Christ, who has made us righteous.

Thank You Father, it all just works out. You shine above it all, through it all. So nice, just to know things are worked out.

It’s been like that for all that’s had to be handled at work – from the discharges I couldn’t handle, to the poor lady with dementia, and now, to the gentleman who forgot or misplaced his blood monitoring device. If things don’t go as planned, the Lord still moves, by way of other people.

Thank You, Lord. It all just works out.

It all just works out, in outer situations, and inner conditions. Thank You so much, Lord. Thank You.

Galatians 5:1Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Hold fast to your confession.

Hebrews 5:12 – 6:3For though this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not the solid food.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith towards God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And we will do this if God permits.

I understand that this looks like progression and ‘levels’, but I would like to believe that in our ‘(going) on to perfection’, we are ‘not laying again’ the foundation; which means there’s no need for us to lay it again.

I know I’m not making sense. I think it’s more about us standing, walking, running on Christ’s finished work, confident that it is absolute, and that it is real to us – that is, that our beings – all of us – operate, confident that it is our reality and THE Truth.

We build ON the Foundation of Christ, eventually. It’s not always about us braking ground and testing for stability, etc.

We aren’t constantly rebuilding the Foundation, but we’re standing on it – in fact, testing it more by jumping on it, and even building upon it.

Can we say it’s like how we’re focused on other things, when we’re so secure about driving?

Foresight. Optics. Wise Counsel. Counsel beyond idealism.

Counsel from the Omniscient. Keeps us from being hasty. Impulsive.

Hebrews 5:12 – 6:3

August 11, 2025

Proverbs 11:2-3When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.

The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

In humility, integrity and uprightness, I dare say our senses are much more receptive to wise counsel; And, more importantly, wise counsel from the omniscient, good Father.

After reading Proverbs 11:4-6 – Righteousness delivers from death, and directs our way aright. Righteousness, blamelessness and uprightness come together this way. Also, ‘The wicked will fall by his own wickedness‘, same as ‘the unfaithful will be caught by their lust‘.

Let’s always ‘labor to enter His rest‘; That is, to always remember Christ and His finished work… and, also, MOST importantly – we’ve been perfected once for all time.

Hebrews 10:14 – For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

‘perfected’ τελειόω / teleioō / tel-i-o’-o / From G5046; to complete, that is, (literally) accomplish, or (figuratively) consummate (in character): – consecrate, finish, fulfil, (make) perfect.

‘Perfection’ in Hebrews 6:1 is also the same. ‘Completeness’. In the ESV it’s ‘Maturity’.

Ephesians 4:11-14

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [e]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting…

Completeness. Perfection. That is, I am complete in Christ. Christ is my perfection.

Colossians 2:9-109 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

August 12, 2025

Fullness. Completion. Complete-ness.

I’m under the assumption that you’re either full or not. Complete, or not.

You either have everlasting life, of you don’t.

You either believe that Christ completely saved you and fully reconciled you, or you don’t.

You’re either perfected, or you’re not.

Any percentage and progression is FROM a mindset, FROM the truth of your being.

It’s being, not becoming.

You repent FROM salvation.

You are sanctified FROM reconciliation.

But this needs to be tested, because right after that, I thought, what about where it says repentance unto salvation?

2 Corinthians 7:10For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

We test all things and surely, we test this.

So do we just say:

It’s as much being as it is becoming.

It’s as much repenting from salvation, as it is repenting unto salvation.

It’s as much sanctification from reconciliation as it is sanctification unto reconciliation.

But, I suppose, one thing’s for sure: We’re complete, and not confused.

Acting off of Hebrews 6:1-2: Our minds have been renewed, and we have been renewed, and we see dead works for what they are. Our eyes are also open, just as our minds have been made new, to recognize living works. We trust in the LORD and our faith is in Him; We understand that our faith toward Him has been re-established FROM Him, and this is faith unto good, living works, if that makes sense.

We have been equipped, ready to baptize as we have been baptized, laying hands as He lay His hands on us, proclaiming life as He raised us.

Tested again. How about ‘eternal judgment‘? I was always under the assumption, or rather I took in the consideration that sin and death would just disappear. I never thought of this being wrong.

But it HAS to be forever.

Revelation 20:10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[a] the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

That’s the same lake of fire mentioned in Revelation 20:15And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Lake of Fire is real. But I chose to say, Christ’s Word is true: Luke 10:19-20 – 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but [a]rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

August 13, 2025

Talking about our salvation and our completeness. Also talking about the reality of the Lake of Fire and of eternal judgment; Testing of mindsets and personal doctrines, and still, through all of it, trusting in Christ and His finished work. We are to go on to perfection.

Keeping this in mind as I go through Proverbs 13 today.

Proverbs 13:2-3

A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence.

He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

Considering what’s coming up tomorrow, I think this is timely. If we are to speak, we are to speak life. Until then, we revel in silence, at peace knowing the Holy Spirit speaks for us.

1 John 2:1-2 – My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Romans 8:33 – Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died – more than that, who was raised – who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

Hebrews 7:25Therefore He is also able to save [a]to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Indeed, my family and I claim the promise of the Word, as I wrote about earlier, in Psalm 13:3-4:

Consider and hear me, O Lord my God;

Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”;

Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

Indeed, amen- As we wait on the LORD patiently, staying silent if we are not speaking life – yes, may He continually enlighten our eyes, as a good Father would.

For what’s to come, Father, we continue to trust in Your mercy; Our hearts still keep rejoicing in Your salvation.

Blessing and glory and honor and power to You, Father, forever and ever!

God with us, God for us,

Nothing can come against, nothing can stand between us!

August 18, 2025

We like singing Steve Kuban’s song based on Proverbs 18:10: ‘The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.’

But when we see the verse that follows, we see ‘The rich man’s wealth is his trong city, and like a high wall is his own esteem’ / ‘in his own conceit’ (KJV) / ‘in his (own) imaginations’ (ESV/NASB)

Quick reminder for us to look to the LORD, to look to His name as our strong tower, and our high wall; not merely ‘in our imagination’, but with all of our being. Not to riches, not to money; We run to JESUS and we are safe.

Blessed be the name of the LORD!

Proverbs 18:14The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, But who can bear a broken spirit?

God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. His IS my very present Help in time of need! We have our solutions, but He always helps!

Surely as we have seen Him work, so He will continue to work according to His grace and glory.

We may experience brokenness, even to our spirit… But let us always remember that He does not even despise a broken spirit. He is our Strength. He give hope and restores hearts that are broken.

(September 06, 2025 – The LORD moves in hearts by way of restoring them… and not only restoring hearts, but making hearts new.)

We know this, we trust in this because of Christ. We give further glory to our Savior, for He has made us new.

We shall not be broken forever, thanks to our Holy Spirit. The One who convicts us of righteousness, reminds us of our completeness.

In His presence, there truly is fullness of joy.

From this completeness, we celebrate. From perfection, we praise Him.

I am absolutely and completely forgiven. Sin no longer has dominion over me, for I am absolutely not under the Law, but completely in grace. Thank You so much, Jesus.

I am absolutely and completely righteous. The finished work of Christ has absolutely, completely reconciled me to God, and because of this, God is now my Father.

Absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Our Father is completely for us, and absolutely not against us. Indeed, WHO can stand against us? CAN anyone/anything come against us?

I am absolutely and completely alive. Not merely existing and surviving, I have everlasting, and therefore complete and perfect life. Christ, indeed, is my Way, my Truth, and my LIFE.

Thank You, Father, for through Christ I am absolutely, completely forgiven, righteous, and alive. Holy Spirit, thank You for these absolutes; all purchased by the blood of Jesus. Thank You, Lord!

I think it has to be reiterated: I am absolutely and completely forgiven. I am, therefore, absolutely and completely changed in my mind, repented from dead works. Consequently, I am completely and absolutely cleansed in my conscience from dead works, to serve the living God (Hebrews 6:1, 9:14).

So, to be clear, I am absolutely and completely forgiven of ALL sin, past, present and future… BUT my conscience has also been completely and absolutely cleansed from dead works.

After doing a bit of internet sleuthing I’ve come to the consideration that these dead works would be those religious ones we’d do (as the Hebrews once did) to ‘reach God’, or to ‘get’ God.

In that regard I say then that we are absolutely and completely alive to serve the living God.

August 20, 2025

Earlier, a couple of months ago actually, I started writing in response to Naval Ravikant’s legendary ‘Tweetstorm’, something along the lines of ‘How to get rich (without getting lucky)’. It started off good, but I started working (actually against Naval’s advice of not trading time for money) and I stopped updating that ‘series’ or ‘thread’.

I think it’s just right, considering that I’ve only started writing about our perfection and completeness recently. I think these two should be seen together.

(We are) Complete. Not callous. Secure, not smug. Compassionate, rather, not callous.

Live, knowing you are in the perfection and completeness of Christ, and that His perfection and completeness is in you; All the days of your life, now and forever.

…and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [a]principality and power.

Colossians 2:10

Amen.
