Dwelling – Psalm 15 (Thanksgiving Unto Repentance, 2) – July 15, 2025 (252/365)

What else can we say?

What else can we think?

As we reflect on the sheer hopelessness of this existence on its own, and on how it was all botched by sin,

as we see, day after day, moment after moment, how the wages of sin manifest in each and every failure,

we… well, I am brought to pause, and just realize – most likely by the influence of an infinitely superior power –

of just how much I need a Father. Not just help, not just rescue, not just relief, not just comfort…

I need a Father.

And, see, I am thankful for these moments, because immediately following that realization, I am reminded – most likely by the influence of an infinitely superior power –

that I DO have a Father. I’m brought from realizations of hopelessness and oblivion, to reminders of righteousness and eternal life.

I’m taken from fear and darkness, to perfect love and everlasting light…

and now, as I reflect on how my Father is greater in me than he that is in this world,

and as I remember how my Savior was born, died, rose again and ascended to the eternal heavenlies for me,

and as I revel in the Truth of His Spirit poured out upon me, constantly reminding me in this wretched world of how I am righteous, now and forever…

Well, what else can I say?

What else can I think?

I know I wrote about this before, but I suppose I’ll go through it again, just this time with the intention of thanksgiving unto quick and massive learning, unlearning, and relearning:

Psalm 15

1 O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

2 He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;

3 who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;

4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; who swears to his own hurt and does not change;

5 who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things shall never be moved.

Father, I thank You, that as we go through Your Word, You would not leave us alone. No, You are here, You are always here, and when it comes to Your word, we are thankful, because we have You as our Tutor, and we have You to teach us.

I thank You, Father, that with every Scripture we ponder upon, with every verse we take in, You are at work in our minds, and consequently, our bodies groove.

Thank You so much, Father, that even now, we are learning, relearning, and unlearning.

Thank You, Father, because Christ is our Firm Foundation; Thank You, for Your begotten Son, who is our Savior – He is our Rock, and we are not moved.

We may be pushed or pulled, or we may even be the ones causing our instability, but You will not allow us to stay that way. Thank You, Father.

It’s because of our being able to stand stable and secure in You, Jesus, that we are able to work. We work FROM stability and security, and not FOR it.

You’ve already worked for us to never to fully or continually shaken. Your sacrifice and resurrection make us strong. For this, again, we thank You.

It is out of our stability and security in You, Lord, that we do not take advantage of others by way of usury.

It is out of our having the mind of Christ that we are able to discern against taking bribes, especially those against the innocent. Thank You, Father.

And, see, we go beyond despise – You looked at our vile nature and our despicable acts, and you did more than just NOT despise us, but You looked upon us with compassion…

and not just any compassion, but an everlasting mercy; You did not despise us, but You loved us with a consistent, faithful compassion.

It is by this great mercy and compassion You had and have for us, that we are able to look at the world beyond despise.

It is by this great mercy that we are able to serve ourselves and others with genuine, unfailing compassion.

Thank You, Father. We work from mercy, and we speak from mercy. Furthermore, You surround us with songs of deliverance, and encourage us at every moment, so we’re able to speak life and love to others.

As we have been reconciled, so our words communicate reconciliation and the salvation You worked for us to receive, Jesus. Thank You.

Oh, praise You, Jesus! Praise You, Father! For indeed, mercy and goodness follow us, and we dwell in Your house forever.

Thank You, Lord; These are wonderful revelations to have and to hold while we venture out, once more, to work.

Be praised, worshipped and glorified, in all things, to the maximum. Thank You, Lord! Thank You, Father!

As mentioned, I’m setting off to work again, in some minutes from now. I pray for accuracy, I pray for favor, I thank God for His faithfulness in all things.

May we continue to take in and experience the overwhelming love of the Lord as this week unfolds.

May the Lord continue to work in all we’re concerned about, and all concerning us.

In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ – Amen.

Until the next post.
