Reinforcing Trust – Devotions, July 09 & 13, 2025 (248/365)

The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Sing praises to the LORD, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds!

Psalm 9:9-11

Here I was crying out for manifestation of your presence by way of thanksgiving. I was thanking You for Your presence, You being with us and us being with You through all that I was experiencing right now. Remembering Your presence, I remember Your faithfulness… and vice versa: when I think of Your faithfulness, I thank You for Your presence.

Here, I read that you’re so much more than merely present – You are my defense, You are my Stronghold. Yes, Lord, thank You – that in my times of trouble, and even now that all sorts of things are happening in such a small amount of time, You are my Stronghold. My Fortress. My strong Tower – Yes, Your name is a strong Tower which we run to for safety.

By Your name proclaimed, the man lame from birth stood and walked. By Your name, the Pharisees were rendered speechless against Peter and John – and, here, by Your name we are safe. Protected. Insulated. In all that happens against us and our household, I claim the promise – We who have been made righteous in Christ run into the name of the Lord, and we are safe.

In our times of trouble, we are safe. We are secure by the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ. We may not have silver, we may not have gold, but in the name of Jesus Christ, we are able to proclaim what silver and gold cannot give – restoration. Full and complete peace – in fact, peace beyond human understanding. Reconciliation unto repentance and forgiveness. We proclaim healing, wholeness, and shalom.

The name of the Lord is our safety and protection, and it is also our weapon of warfare.

We rejoice, as David rejoiced. We revel in the name of Jesus Christ, singing new songs to Him who sits on the throne. We are in awe of His glory and grace, His everlasting love as seen through His birth, death, resurrection and ascension. We may be assaulted on every side, tempted again and again, sabotaged from the inside out, or attacked from the outside in… but all the same, Jesus Christ is our Rescue, our Redeemer, our Righteousness.

Our Father is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel, the Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Father is the God of the impossible, the heartbreaking, the frustrating. Our God is our Father, present in all things we are involved in, all things we have no way out of, all things for which we have no options left.

Our Father is the God of the hopeless.

He deserves all glory. He deserves all praise. I thank God, for He never leaves us, nor does He ever forget us.

I thank God, for His faithfulness to us, no matter how far we stray. It’s a comforting thought, knowing that He remains with us and chooses to stay with us, even when we stumble.

In all this, I am reminded – again, that God is our Father who sees us through the impossible, the heartbreaking and the frustrating. I am reminded, and I thank God all the more.

Thank You for today, Lord. Thank You for allowing us to wake up to another morning. Thank You for rest, restoration, and recharging of our systems. Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness to us and all that concerns us, through the night and as we slept.

Thank You, Father, for Your many mercies – new every morning, fresh and overabundant with every morning we wake up. I thank You, Lord, for just being so consistent, and just as precise in Your lovingkindness and Your mercies to us – knowing us by name, knowing all that concerns us, and designating mercies for where it is best assigned. Oh, I don’t know, Lord, I just want to thank You, because even now, Your mercies just continue to flow and overwhelm me!

Thank You, Lord. Thank You for life, and love, and Your light. Thank You for our having absolute righteousness through the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work, and guaranteed by the Holy Spirit, who is the proof and receipt of our salvation. Thank You, because by our being righteous we are reconciled to God, our Father, who Himself is our Life and Light. Thank You for the constant reminder that we are righteous undo eternal life.

Thank You, Lord. Thank You for love. You ARE Love, in that You love us with an everlasting Love – again, proven and demonstrated through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Thank You for light – You are the everlasting Father of lights, shining upon us, for us, in us and through us, opening our eyes to revelations; Proof of the conviction we have by the Holy Spirit.

Thank You, Father! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Holy Spirit! Continue to move in us, through us, and with us – Move in our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls, move in our entire beings! Fill Your temples with the Holy Spirit, and be glorified and magnified to the maximum in every aspect of our existence. Continue to convict us, continue to change our minds, to change our way of thinking, and allow us to continue to graciously be transformed according to the renewing of our minds.

Move us from glory to glory, and in all things we encounter, in all of our past, present and future, for all that we face that brings death or life, be praised and worshipped! Amen!

5 But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

6 I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalms 13:5-6
