As usual, we need to go ahead and just let things off of our chest before going any forward… or, well, in this case, going backward as we reflect on what happened last week.
Yeah, only after going backwards as such can I say that we can move forward – that is, with this Sunday’s message.
One step back, two steps forward – as my good father used to tell me. Happy Fathers’ Day, by the way.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.
His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning, new every morning,
great is thy faithfulness, o Lord;
Great is thy faithfulness!
You know, the reason I just keep on singing this song in my head, especially as I get my brain into typing or writing, is just that I’m programmed – yes, me, I’m personally programmed – to appreciate this aspect of God’s everlasting love for me, in particular: That no matter what happens and no matter what I make happen; No matter what I do, and no matter what is done to me; However things seem versus however things actually are, in the past, present, and future, and in whatever scale presented; No matter what, and in all things, my God is as my Father, in that He is faithful.
My God, my Father is faithful as only He could be: Absolutely faithful. For me, not against me, always with me, never leaving me, never forsaking me, never forgetting me; I am always on His mind!
My Father is faithful, indeed! We keep telling each other to delight in His presence, when we also ought to be so thankful that no matter what may happen, what will happen, and no matter what is happening right now, our God is, indeed, with us; And much more than we’re able to appreciate His presence, the eternal Creator enjoys being with us… much more!
Thank You, Father, for even right now, in all that I’ve thrown myself into, in all that I’ve been brought into; In all I have, in all I don’t have, oh, Father, You are continually to be praised, now and always… because You are our faithful, faithful Father!
Thank You so much, Lord! Thank You!
June 10, 2025 –The following were notes I took while we were in Bible Study with my good brother from another mother, as well as some wonderful folks from all around the rest of the world.
CG Module 2025 – Lesson 10
Recap: Daniel, David, Jesus, Letter to the Ephesians
Good things happen when we believe that God loves us.
Today: God’s love has made us more than conquerors
- This is how Love was born:
- 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
- TPT: 10 This is love: He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.
- Not about how we love God, but how God loved us first.
- Why were we created? To receive and experience God’s love
- Does God care about me? God’s love is indiscriminate
- 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
- Am I really free to choose or reject God’s love? Love must be a choice, free and without compulsion.
- How can I know that God loves me? His love prompted Him to send His beloved and begotten Son.
- …and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:5-8
- 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
- We need a revelation of God’s personal love. – Testify: That one time that we were in the Raisin Bread, and I suddenly realized how Jesus thought it was all worth it to suffer and die for me. That He was thinking of me at the cross.
- There needs to be a move from information to revelation, and there will be a shift in our own lives.
Highlight: The Story of Gideon, The Champion Deliverer
11 Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, “The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor.” Judges 6:11-12
Note: ‘Gideon’ means ‘warrior’. Mentioned in Hebrews 11 – Faith as a warrior, and God declared that he was a ‘mighty man of valor’ especially when he was hiding – much like God called Jesus His ‘Beloved’ even before He went out and healed, resurrected, and the miracles, and the cross.
13 And Gideon said to him, “Please, my Lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.” 14 And the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?” 15 And he said to him, “Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” 16 And the LORD said to him, “But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.” 17 And he said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, then show me a sign that it is you who speak with me. 18 Please do not depart from here until I come to you and bring out my present and set it before you.” And he said, “I will stay till you return.”
19 So Gideon went into his house and prepared a young goat and unleavened cakes from an ephah of flour. The meat he put in a basket, and the broth he put in a pot, and brought them to him under the terebinth and presented them. 20 And the angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened cakes, and put them on this rock, and pour the broth over them.” And he did so. 21 Then the angel of the LORD reached out the tip of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes. And fire sprang up from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes. And the angel of the LORD vanished from his sight.Judges 6:13-21
Gideon heard and believed. Gideon had his doubts… and, eventually, by the grace of God and as seen in His everlasting love for us, Gideon eventually would come to be known as leader of the 300 who actually won, versus the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae.
Your identity is not found in your weakness or your doubts. You’re known in Christ, and you are already more than a conqueror in Christ!
DECLARE
Because the Lord God loves me, is with me, and for me, I am more than a conqueror in Christ and will live the amazing destiny God has prepared for me.
Father in heaven, thank You that You love me and are always with me and for me. Thank You that because of Jesus’ sacrifice and finished work, I can know You intimately and personally, and I can experience Your unmerited favor and supernatural peace in every challenge in my life.
I believe that through Your love, I am more than a conqueror in Christ. Nothing can stand against me and I will live the amazing destiny You have prepared for me. Amen.
Again, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:31-39
GOD’s LOVE has made us MORE THAN CONQUERORS IN FOUR WAYS
- No situation in life can defeat us or dilute God’s love.
- We know that divine love and power work for us to triumph over all things.
- We share the victory spoils of every enemy we face.
- 12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.Isaiah 53:12
- He didn’t merely save us, He made us mighty.
- 12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.Isaiah 53:12
- We have conquered the Conqueror with merely a glance of our worshiping eyes. We have won his heart.
- 9 You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.Song of Songs 4:9
- Our worship to Him leaves Him bare for us (‘captivated’)
- 4 You are beautiful as Tirzah, my love, lovely as Jerusalem, awesome as an army with banners. 5 Turn away your eyes from me, for they overwhelm me— Your hair is like a flock of goats leaping down the slopes of Gilead. Song of Songs 6:4-5
- To overcome Him is love’s delight
- ‘Love has taken over, I have been set free‘ – The Katinas
- 9 You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.Song of Songs 4:9
Jesus the Overcomer has done the hard work!
Our part is to receive and believe!
QUESTIONS TO PONDER
- Do I truly believe that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ—or do I live like something can?
- When I face hardship, do I run to God’s love or question it? Why?
- What are the “trouble, hardship, or fear” areas in my life right now—and am I letting them define me more than God’s love does?
- Am I convinced, like Paul, that God’s love is constant—through every season and circumstance? Or is my trust still conditional?
- What would change in my daily decisions, relationships, and identity if I really lived like I am “more than a conqueror” through Christ?
- How can I anchor myself in God’s love when emotions, people, or life try to pull me away from it?
Questioned ‘more than conquerors’
2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.Romans 5:2-5
Hope? elpis / el-pece’ / Fromἔλπω elpō which is a primary word (to anticipate, usually with pleasure); expectation (abstract or concrete) or confidence: – faith, hope.
Holy Spirit, blessing for blessings here and now. I’m not conquering, I’ve been conquered but I have the Conqueror.
Here’s something I wrote, from earlier, from June 10, in the early morning before my shift when I first started taking in live calls:
31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.
And, finally, the reason for me pulling all this up, expressed in this couple of verses. Indeed, for us to say that our mouths are righteous, and that our lips are righteous… After all we’ve talked about so far, doesn’t it sound a lot like the Lord is, indeed, as much ‘with our mouths’ as much as He is with our entire being? I mean, to proclaim that our mouths and lips are righteous implies that our mouths and lips are as much in right standing with the Maker of mouths and lips, as much as the rest of our being!
Making another mountain out of a molehill here, but I’m just so thankful for these appropriate words, and for how our God, our Father is surely good to us; So good, in fact, that I’ve experienced here and now, how He is faithful to bring relevant revelations to us when we consult His word.
We talk to Him in prayer, He surely responds to us in His word. Not a +1 for divination here, not endorsing the practice more than I’m simply saying: God is good, and I’m thankful for His goodness!
Indeed, may we bring forth wisdom with our mouths. May we know what it acceptable. May we never be cut off.
(May) the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14
Amen! Thank You, Lord!
After the course of a week, taking calls for one Line of Business (LOB), and then suddenly from three LOBs as training progressed at the last shift… Well, I feel pretty good, now. I feel thankful. Indeed, God’s faithfulness has been made known.
The faithfulness of our Father was made known as I took that very first call, getting all acquainted with using the tools given to me for the very first time. I’ve seen and experienced His faithfulness as I ran into some snags on some other calls, only to find out that it was human (MY) mistakes that made some calls last longer than they should have. I’ve seen His faithfulness as I encountered situations not explicitly mentioned in the past, and I’m thankful for His guidance and His reminder that even through the unexpected, He doesn’t fail to guide us and direct us accordingly.
It’s a lot different from 20 years ago, I tell you. 20 years ago I was taking in calls, obviously 20 years younger, and less 20 years of experience. 20 years ago I was pretty selfish, and the Gospel of the grace of God and the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ was, well, ‘skin-deep’, I’d say.
Back then I used to lengthen calls just to make it through the shift, get paid, go home. Now, well, I’m already at home, but I’m finding myself more eager to learn, more eager to expose myself to uncertainty, knowing that it’s in the fog and in the darkness that the Light shines in ways we’ll never see in the mundane.
Sure, you can say that a lot of what I’m saying now is just me being more positive, and you’d be right… but make no mistake, I’m not fooling myself with a shallow-rooted concept of positive thinking and mystic manifesting… No, this confidence, this willing to learn and even to be hurt while learning is coming from the foundation of the One who never leaves me, the One who is faithful to me in all things, from whom I am able to be faithful (not just positive, but faithful) to all I interact with – My Foundation is no mere concept or theory, but Jesus Christ Himself, the Rock on whom we all ought to stand.
He truly deserves all the glory, and He truly deserves all the praise. Indeed, the Holy Spirit alive in us causes us to speak out in praise, no matter what tune, no matter what language – of the goodness of God, His wonderful and marvelous works, all pointing to Christ, through whom we have the Holy Spirit in the first place!
And I think that’s where I’m going to be starting off in, oh, a couple of hours from now. We’re going to be talking about the goodness of God, His wonderful, marvelous works, and the rest of the events of Pentecost, as narrated in Acts 2.
I think I’ll end this here for now, and prepare a new post for that.
Until that next post, which I pray I’m able to share in time, God bless us all. Amen.
