10 But Moses said to the LORD, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” 11 Then the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”Exodus 4:10-12
I forgot to mention this when I spoke last Sunday; Or, sorry, I forgot to record this and point it out here in writing – The Lord isn’t just with us; As we can read here, our good good Father who made our mouth is with our mouth. So whenever I speak, the Lord is with me.
When I’m talking to clients, crowds and congregations, the Lord with with me, and the Lord is with my mouth… And, I’m assuming, everything involved in communication, such as my ears, that I hear them precisely the first time every time; And, sure as the Lord with with my brain to process I/O, I actually have the mind of Christ – one of compassion, one aware of eternal life and everlasting love consistently lavished upon me.
It’s the same when I’m on the road, saying not so pleasant things to folks who go slow seemingly intentionally, forget their turn signals and/or cut me off in traffic. In all things, the Lord is with me, never leaving me, never forsaking me, for me and not against me.
Nothing can ever separate me from Him, and everything actually reminds me of His everlasting love for us, secured and guaranteed by Christ and His finished work.
Oh, praise the name of the Lord, my God!
Oh, praise His name, forever!
For endless days we will sing Your praise,
oh Lord, oh Lord my God!
Something else I pulled up earlier this (early) morning was Proverbs 10:27-32:
27 The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short.
28 The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish.
We want to give thanks to the Lord, because it is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we have been brought to receive the grace of God… and in our salvation, our eyes have also been opened to the sheer glory of our infinite and eternal Creator, much so that our lives have been ‘prolonged’ – in fact, SO prolonged by the finished work of Christ, that we shall not perish, but have eternal life! Indeed, by Christ we are righteous, and it is upon this righteousness that we have hope, and by this hope, we have joy – We operate from joy!
Indeed, it’s not so much that we speak, that God is with our mouths, but our entire being in that all of us functions from a new default of righteousness unto hope, and hope unto joy.
Thank You, Lord!
Taking a few minutes more here to complete this before I hop into a self-imposed pre-shift session.
29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the blameless, but destruction to evildoers.
30 The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land.
We pray for the Lord to continue to move and to act according to His infinite power and eternal wisdom, because the sin and the flesh that has flung all of this reality into darkness is certainly taking its toll upon all of us – but more so upon those who have yet to receive Christ; It’s sad, and we’re led to compassion as Christ had compassion upon us, as we observe how peoples’ years have been cut short, how expectations have perished, how destruction runs rampant, kicking us out of our foundations and shaking us to our core.
On the other hand, we give thanks to God, because by the power of the Holy Spirit we are constantly reminded of our right standing with Him; as such, we are strong and secure – in fact, so secure that we are confident that we are never going to be fully removed, nor will we fully take in the cup of oblivion.
We operate from righteousness.
Security unto power, hope unto joy.
31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.
And, finally, the reason for me pulling all this up, expressed in this couple of verses. Indeed, for us to say that our mouths are righteous, and that our lips are righteous… After all we’ve talked about so far, doesn’t it sound a lot like the Lord is, indeed, as much ‘with our mouths‘ as much as He is with our entire being? I mean, to proclaim that our mouths and lips are righteous implies that our mouths and lips are as much in right standing with the Maker of mouths and lips, as much as the rest of our being!
Making another mountain out of a molehill here, but I’m just so thankful for these appropriate words, and for how our God, our Father is surely good to us; So good, in fact, that I’ve experienced here and now, how He is faithful to bring relevant revelations to us when we consult His word.
We talk to Him in prayer, He surely responds to us in His word. Not a +1 for divination here, not endorsing the practice more than I’m simply saying: God is good, and I’m thankful for His goodness!
Indeed, may we bring forth wisdom with our mouths. May we know what it acceptable. May we never be cut off.
(May) the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:14
Amen! Thank You, Lord!
