Reprogramming. Reformatting. Stabilizing.
Working out the physical body… Now, writing and getting the mind and brain back into flow, while intentionally causing the rest of my being to appreciate the manifest presence of the Creator of the Universe and all that is seen and unseen, made possible through Jesus Christ, guaranteed by His finished work: His birth, death, resurrection and ascension.
Thank You, Father, for everything. When I say ‘everything’, I mean it, or at least as far as I can grasp ‘everything’; Thank You nevertheless, Father – I can thank You in general, or I can be specific, and You respond according to Your infinite power and eternal wisdom.
Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. Today is May 20, 2025, and I am seated, facing my main computer here in my home office; Sweaty and stabilizing my breathing as I type, being more and more specific in that regard. I know that You know all this and more, Father, but it’s more for me to be precise, so I can be more precise when I say I am thankful in my present state. Indeed, thank You, Father, for even in my present state, and with everything else that surrounds me, everything that’s in my head that I know I should be doing – even in all this, You are faithful.
I am thankful for the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit upon the writer of Lamentations, particularly when he wrote and recorded how, even in their sad state, they proclaimed of Your steadfast love that never ceases.
Even though they have suffered greatly as a consequence of their disobedience and unbelief, they proclaim that Your mercies never come to an end, and that they are new every morning.
Even if they have had everything taken away from them, down to what I could imagine is their sheer will to keep on going… Father, thank You, because I draw inspiration and such encouragement from their choosing to explicitly proclaim that Your faithfulness is great.
Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. Even in this time. Even in this moment. Even now, that I am recovering from the short term effects and the long term impact of my own erroneous choices, You are faithful.
Thank You, Father. For even in this time, when, again, much is required of me by myself and the rest of this reality, indeed, You are faithful. You are true.
Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. Continue to minister to my entire being as I intentionally cry out to You by way of writing. I will continue to cry out to You in dependence and in thanks, for You continue to faithfully make all things new.
By the power of Your Holy Spirit I am, even at this time, reminded that now and always, I am with You, and You are with me. You are for me, and not against me. Nothing can ever separate me from Your love.
Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Holy Spirit.
You move in my midst. You move in my past, present, and future, ministering to me and to all, for all to work together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
Indeed, Your thoughts are not my thoughts, and Your ways are not my ways. Your will may be incomprehensible for our limited senses and our finite consciousnesses, but what You do make known through Christ DOES give us peace beyond all understanding… Peace that would have us trusting in You and in Your infinitely superior will.
Thank You, Father. Thank You, God. For in all the uncertainty we are brought into, and all the chaos we bring upon ourselves, You are a trustworthy Rock on whom we stand.
You are worthy of all praise and glory. You are worthy of all honor and accolades. Thank You!
Psalm 81
Oh, That My People Would Listen to Me
TO THE CHOIRMASTER: ACCORDING TO THE GITTITH. OF ASAPH.
1 Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob!
2 Raise a song; sound the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp.
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, a rule of the God of Jacob.
5 He made it a decree in Joseph when he went out over the land of Egypt.
I’m reminded of my Mom, who is fond of quoting Psalm 34:1 in her morning prayers: ‘I will bless the LORD at all times, and His praise shall continually be on my lips‘; in line with ‘Rejoice always‘ from one of my own favoritest verses (2 Thessalonians 5:16), among other verses in the New Testament that would remind us to ‘Rejoice in the Lord always‘.
Here, as the Israelites of old, we sing and shout, making music with the tambourine, the lyre, the harp and the trumpet; We are joyful, rejoicing in our God – just as they rejoice, at the new moon, and at the full moon, on the days of feasting, to the God of Jacob… And as they celebrate for a mandate and statute given to them, so we enjoy our Father, who is our Strength, through Christ, the living Word, who has satisfied the Law, and given us a new commandment: To love one another as He loves us.
Glory and honor, indeed, to our great and wonderful Father, the everlasting Father of lights!
Praise and glory to our Savior, the only begotten Son of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: Jesus Christ, Faithful and True!
I hear a language I had not known:
6 “I relieved your shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.
7 In distress you called, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah
Checking on the ESV. Here, the Lord reminds the Israelites of how they were relieved of the burdens they carried in Egypt; The ‘secret place of thunder’ seems to refer to Mount Sinai, and Meribah is where the Israelites grumbled out of thirst, and where God directed Moses to strike a rock with the rod he struck the Nile with – The same God who brought death upon the waters of this river, now brings waters and relief to the thirsty.
This tells me – rather, reminds me – that as we praise our Father, we are reminded of the things He has done for us, and also, as we remember all He has done, the praise follows naturally.
Indeed, how can we not sing of His faithfulness when we remember how He has been faithful to us in what we thought was the worst that happened to us, in the past? Oh, Father, You’ve helped us then, and You would continue to help us – for the glory of Your name, and for Your grace and goodness to be seen and known! Thank You, Father! Thank You so much!
8 Hear, O my people, while I admonish you! O Israel, if you would but listen to me!
9 There shall be no strange god among you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god.
10 I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 “But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me.
12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.
13 Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes.
15 Those who hate the LORD would cringe toward him, and their fate would last forever.
16 But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
As we rejoice and as we praise Him, let us hear Him.
As the Spirit continues to pray without ceasing on our behalf, let us find peace and satisfaction in Him.
Let us give thanks, and in so doing, keep our eyes and our entire beings attuned to His divinity, aware of His manifest presence in our lives.
He is with us in every breath we take, every beat of our hearts – loving us, for us, never against us, causing all to work for our good.
Glory and honor to His name, now and forever! Amen.
