Getting It All Back, pt1 – May 1-5, 2025 (192/365)

Something I posted on Threads (naks).

*taps mic* This thing on?

Hey. So I just turned 41, oh, around a week ago. You grow older, you grow wiser and realize (and TRULY realize) people are greater gifts than things, and so on.

Anyway, wrote about that elsewhere. What I wanted to share here, though, was that I was already giving myself a birthday gift as early as March 1.

But before I move on, disclaimer: Not promoting anything here, not sponsored by anyone. I just want to share. Because I care. Shut up, I do.

Stuff I’ve been doing / started doing since March 1, 2025:

  1. A Daily Activity Log, on Excel. Anything to keep me accountable. Helps me by way of reminding me what I haven’t done yet, and pressuring me into actually getting stuff done.
  2. Speaking of, I’ve moved my stretching routine from before working out to first thing in the morning, along with 16 jacks, pushups, situps and squats… Get the blood flowing.
  3. Pushed myself from 10k steps to 12500 steps a day, 6 out of 7 days a week. I’m blessed to be in the suburbs where walking is meditation, and vice versa. Oh, to add, lifting weights at least 3 times a week as well.
  4. It’s not all walking, though. I’ve contributed to the daily step requirement by way of a mandatory minimum of 1 boxing follow-along workout (shadow boxing with weighted gloves and/or on the heavy bag). I’ve been following Nate Bower Fitness on YouTube for at least 7 years now.
  5. As of April, I’ve started doing indoor ‘stepper’ workouts – I’ve found YouTube videos by Rick Bhullar and Brian Syuki to be working for me so far.
  6. Strictly 1 meal a day… Or food intake within as small an amount of time. Preferably an hour, but considering events and gatherings, may be stretched to as long as 4 hours. Strictly no snacks, only water and black coffee outside of the window. Oh, also, no coffee for me beyond 2pm.
    1. Food choices? The window has me feeling fuller with less portions, so although I’m not super strict, I have been eating more ‘ulam’ (viands) than rice. More fruits and vegetables – yeah, I couldn’t believe I’m saying that.
    2. When I can, I take a light walk after eating, just so I avoid feeling drowsy, and to let everything settle.
  7. Oh, since April, I’ve also started taking detox pills. Anti-parasite capsules + 2 glasses of water first thing in the morning, and an Aloe Vera capsule right before sleeping.
  8. Speaking of right before sleeping, I’ve also been whisking 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon and 4 tablespoons of ACV into a glass of water, and chugging that down. Supposed to help with bringing insulin down, but I feel it HAS been helping with digestion and detox, etc.
  9. Also before sleeping, I leave the phone in the office. It hasn’t been with me in bed for weeks now, and I’m enjoying being ‘disconnected’ during the first and last parts of my day.
    1. I’ve been praying and reading Scripture in the morning (after stretching), and at night, I’ve been reading with TrueDark glasses on – They’ve been knocking me out so fast, I should have been done with reading The Bourne Ultimatum so much earlier.
  10. I ‘reset’ my food intake, my working out, my mind, every Saturday – meaning, I allow myself to eat whatever I want once or twice, I rest from exercise, and I just go ahead and do whatever on the computer. Sometimes I shift the food intake reset every Friday, but I absolutely make sure I get some of it on a Saturday, because…
  11. Here’s a big one: I fast every Sunday. Really, just skipping my one meal. I also consider Sunday to be the start of my workout week, so I go back hard again in the morning, while we go to church in the afternoon. It used to be a pain, but lately I’ve been feeling really good about it especially because the Mondays that follow are when I work out on a fasted state. And, mind you, this is for weight loss, sure, but I’ve also been feeling ‘sharper’ right before Monday afternoon, when I finally eat after, oh, at least 36 hours.

All this in the span of 2 months contributed to me losing close to 20 pounds, more or less. The scale read over 170 when I started, now it’s just a bit over 150.

Still have the love handles, still have the tits, but hey, I’m happier now than when I started.

Just feels good, you know?

What about you now? Again, not promoting anything here, but how can I help you in your journey?

Lemme know what you’re up to, what you’re aiming for. Let’s help each other out! God bless you!

You know the last time I went this hard on my body to lose weight, and well even now, I had one thing in mind, like a mantra of sorts – That I wanted to get my body back.

Back then, I wanted to follow that up with me wanting to get my mind back. To that end I went as far as doing Mindvalley stuff with Jim Kwik and yeah, sure, it helped… but now I think we’re going to have to make more moves to get that to happen.

So with that being said, I’m going to follow this up with what I’ve been doing so far to get my mind back, and also what’s been hindering me or holding me back, e.g.:

Bad stuff:

  1. Overgaming – I’ve been playing Dune: Spice Wars for, oh, at least 4 hours a day. That’s not good at all.
  2. Porn – Sad that I still see the need to ‘indulge’ at least once a week. Not good either. In fact, it’s sabotage. Not just mental junk food, mental poison.
  3. Watching something while eating – Making me eat more. I should eat, then watch. Probably not at the same time.

More to come.

Until then, God bless you greatly.
