Lineup?

Hah. None of this was done tonight. It was supposed to be some sort of crucial night when I would be doing a lot of typing go supposedly get a head start on the new year, but well, I checked out early. Food we ordered for tonight arrived, and my Mom and Manang Irene were already busy setting up for dinner, so I thought, enough of these self-=imposed time constraints… let’s actually just relax for a bit.

And here I am, after a gauntlet of beef biryani, roast chicken, macaroni salad, ice cream and baileys, and not to mention a copious amount of wine… eyes closed, typing whatever comes to my head before I take on the guitar at around quarter to twelve for my personal non negotiable – that is, to end the year worshipping, and to start the new year worshipping.

I was supposed to be posting on my Instagram account, the one dedicated supposedly to my photography and my other endeavors in the visual arts. I was supposed to play catch up with my posts for November, then for December, then to end the year, and then to start the new year. So that’s a lot of backlog.

I was also supposed to post something on the Facebooks, only to just stop myself because it was coming from a desire to rake in all the likes and reacts.

I ended up just posting on X, saying the following:

Yknow what?

I’ll post when I feel like it.

Fcuk these self-imposed time constraints.

Happy new year!

I don’t know – am I just getting older? Am I ‘growing up’ and just realizing it here, of all times, on New Year’s Eve?

Take note that this isn’t the only New Year’s Eve that was more or less pivotal for me. There were other times that major changes followed in my own mind, just as the clock hit midnight.

And, you know what? I probably might just go ahead and start strumming that guitar a little bit earlier – let’s get a couple more songs in before the year ends, and as we hit 2025.

God bless us all.
