It’s the end of the party and we’re properly packaging all the leftovers for people to bring home. Pizza, Biryani, ice cream, and all that good stuff… but hey, we’ve been overflowing with some really good Bread as well; Scripture, that is.
And as it was shared to me, so I share to us all.
That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.
Romans 4:22-25 – from Jopet & Joy
They only really talked about Romans 4:25 (look, 4:25 whee), where they derive and consequently share that Christ proclaimed us righteous at the cross, and confirmed it by His resurrection.
To this I shared to them (1) how Christ didn’t say ‘It is finished’ as He walked out of the empty tomb, but on the cross and (2) how Andrew Farley was the one who pointed out that we should take it ‘all the way’ if we were to tell others to ‘take up their cross to follow Jesus’…
…because at the end of Christ’s carrying the cross was the crucifixion. Let us realize that we have, indeed, taken our cross, but it’s not for perpetual enduring, more than it is for us realize that at the end we have been crucified with Christ, and back to Dr. Farley’s words, so we died with Him, and so we rose again with Him.
Anyway I’m veering off point here. Again, as it was shared to me, so I share:
May we be secure and at peace as we all realize how we have been delivered from our trespasses, through Christ who was delivered up for our trespasses. And may we have boldness to run to the throne of grace at our time of need (Hebrews 4:16), for Christ was raised for our justification.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. …May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
Romans 15:13 & 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 – from Brother Juan and Sister Helen
I’m led to remember how Paul, in Acts 17, took advantage of the one altar in Athens which read, ‘To The Unknown God’, to explain that through Christ, He has been made known – And He is not a mere God of seasons, separate from the God of harvest, separate from the Bearer of the All-Seeing Eye, and the Arbiter and Judge of the Living and the Dead; I could imagine Paul’s excitement in proclaiming:
“…What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.
The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
Acts 17:23b-25
He proclaims to them and to us that not ONLY is God a mere representation/representative of one aspect of creation, but that He HIMSELF is the Creator ‘of the world and everything in it’. And Paul goes even further. Contrary to the creator, even father deity of other religions, or contrary to the unifying idea of other thought systems, Paul explains that THIS Creator has no need of our works, nor of any in all of creation:
The Creator is the Reason for Creation (‘He Himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything’)…
… and as we see here, in what was shared to me, He is not a mere God of love, but also, of hope, and of peace. He is a God of Hope, birthed out of a fullness of joy, and a peace in believing, and He is a God of Peace, and one significant reason we have peace is because He Himself ‘(sanctifies) us completely, faithful to keep our spirit, soul, and body blameless ‘at the coming of’ Christ.
As it was shared to me, so I share:
May the God of Hope fill us with joy and peace, and may this joy and peace be the sure start and foundation for our own hope.
May the God of Peace sanctify us and keep us blameless.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 – From Dox
Here, my good brother from another mother only quoted that underlined text, but we might as well pull up the entire verse.
First of all, we acknowledge that among other perspectives, we know Christ as the Author and Finisher of our faith. With that said, we are saying that any true faith we claim to have has not been formulated by our works, but rather, through Christ, and more specifically, through His finished work.
You can say that the ink Christ used in authoring the faith we have is His own blood.
Knowing that Christ and Christ alone is the Origin and Author of our faith, we can also wholeheartedly acknowledge and agree – it is impossible to please God without faith. Two things from this: (1) It is therefore impossible to please God without Christ, the Author of our faith, and (2) it is possible to please God with Christ, again, the Author of our faith.
And by faith we say what the rest of the verse implies, including what was shared to me: Through Christ who authored our faith, we believe that God exists, and we believe that He rewards those who seek Him.
I remember responding to Dox by sharing another verse making its rounds in my head. Romans 10:11 reads: “As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”“
As it was shared to me, so I share:
May we not grow weary in seeking Christ, for in so doing, we would be rewarded.
May we not grow weary in trusting in Christ, for in so doing, we would never be put to shame.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26 – from Manang Donnah
Ah, the Aaronic blessing. I have the church congregation find a partner to declare this exact blessing as it is, word per word.
But there WAS a time that I was the one doing the blessing, because I pointed something else out; And, while I’m at it, this is where I say, as it was shared to me, so I share:
Because of Christ’s finished work, you ought to know, that you are blessed, being blessed, and will be blessed – and in your possession of a timeless blessing, know that you are kept.
Because of Christ’s finished work, you can certainly say that the Lord’s face shines upon you in fascination and delight, just as He lifts His countenance upon you with favor, for you and not against you. You are His beloved child, in whom He is well pleased.
Finally, because of Christ’s finished work, our God is both gracious towards you, and freely and cheerfully gives you peace – For Christ HIMSELF is God’s grace, and God’s peace poured into you.
Just a note: because of all the words I’ve had to say, I shelved this. But it IS a blessing, THE blessing I’d love to quote as much as I could – For Christ, indeed, is the Aaronic blessing, fulfilled.
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
3 John 1:2 – From Padi Richard Egmalis
The same good ‘Padi’ or priest shared Romans 15:13 to me by the way, just as Brother Juan and Sister Helen did.. But here I’m reminded that any ‘blessing’ we ‘proclaim’ or ‘declare’ for others to ‘receive’ (couldn’t get more ‘modern’ Pentecostal than that), ought to be preceded with a prayer for the soul:
For if all is well with us in general, then it has something to do with the well-being of our soul. And if we were to say that our health is good in the physical aspect at the very least, I have reason to believe that our soul is also as good and as healthy.
As it was shared to me, so I share:
Through Christ, may your soul be well and in good health, that the rest of your being would follow suit.
And as I wrap up let me mention one last one I received, which I ought to share to you as well:
May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!
Psalms 20:4 – from Padi Richard Egmalis & Kuya John
Consolidating. As it was shared to me on the day I turn 40 decades in this reality, looking back, and looking forward… So I share to you,
that Christ is our Prince of Peace through whom we are justified, sanctified and declared blameless – therefore, we are at peace, and not merely secure (as in NOT insecure of our standing), but we are also bold to run to our Father at our time of need,
that Christ is our Living Hope – previously acknowledged as the Prince of Peace, but also IS our Peace, just as He is our Grace; He not only fills us with joy, but He IS our Joy.
that Christ HIMSELF is our Blessing – beyond anything we could ever ‘proclaim’ or ‘declare’, or anything in all creation that we ‘manifest’, it is Christ HIMSELF who blesses us correctly and promptly – Not merely by GIVING us peace, grace, and joy, but by BEING our Peace, our Grace, our Joy. Christ blesses us, and because we know that He IS our Blessing, we have cause to testify to the world that we are not only blessed, but kept in Him.
We know that we are kept in Him, and also that God publicly proclaims that He is His beloved Son, in whom He is well pleased… because of this, we also have cause to testify that God’s face shines upon us, and His countenance is lifted upon us.
For Christ – Who He is, and what He has done, as elaborated upon here, based on what Scripture was shared to me – our souls are well and in good health, and the rest of our beings are the same way.
Christ grants us our heart’s desire, and fulfills all our plans. He is faithful to finish the work He began in us. Consequently, Christ IS our heart’s desire, and the fulfillment of our plans.
Good stuff, yeah?
God bless you.
God bless us all.
