Go Forth With Endurance – (GNCCLS2 Session 4) – March 23, 2024 (95/365)

Day 2 Afternoon Session, Good News Community Church Leadership Summit II

Submission // Ptra. Malou M.

Speaker shared about how she enjoyed the Leadership Summits of the past, and shared her fear when she was contacted to share today. She said she was afraid but she yielded out of submission. And that was her theme, and emphasized the youth in her mind.

This is according to Google: Submission the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:7

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Hebrews 13:17

As early as now I’d like to point out that this submission that she’s about to keep on expounding about? I think it all ought to be preceded with humility.

She spoke of her working abroad from necessity, and encountered how she was falsely accused by a fellow domestic helper. She was subject to physical and mental abuse at the jail. It was the worship songs from a tape given to her that just kept on ministering to her.

She decided to go home and rest for a year. She enrolled in a foundation for certification to join a company… and that’s where she met Pastor Joedy’s wife. Instead of going to mass to do rosary, she was encouraged instead to spend time to hear what she had to tell her, to pray for her and to join them in their church’s anniversary.

And when it was time to worship, the song with the lyric ‘He will come and save you’ was what transformed her further. She kept on joining their services, until she was brought to go to the stage as a backup singer, and then to minister to the children – a task she initially avoided, but apparently it’s not just worship, but books that transform us. She read a book entitled ‘Whose Child Is This?’, and that gave her the inspiration she needed.

She went beyond the children’s ministry within the church, and went to minister to street children.

In all this, she clung to one lesson, which she is sharing: Do Not Stop.

And it also helps, as previously mentioned, for us to have a vision; or, in her words, a purpose. That way, when you do make communication, even with difficult people along the way in ministry, you’re able to relate to people – Not head to head, but, as she emphasizes, heart to heart.

How do you go heart to heart? Be a good listener to share a good testimony, and vice versa. This is wonderful to keep in mind, considering that it challenges us not only hear and/or speak our testimony… but to live it… and as we’re good in listening, we’re also moving to be listened to, or observed to… that our testimony is not merely heard in our words, but seen in our literal lives.

It’s from all this that our vision is clarified. From what goes on in the present, our vision for the future is defined. When we see what we’re up to and not merely reading or writing about it, we’re also seeing where we’re headed.

When we put it all to work, our vision is sharpened… and these visions and goals, well, their benefits have been emphasized time and time again.

Apply the vision, or envision (and consequently, naturally move upon) the application. And do not be surprised if, in your movement, you fall into the fire – it’s part of ministry, she says. We ought to be thankful for these times, because these setbacks are just as vital, if not more valuable than our perceived ideas of application. Embrace the fire.

In closing Ptra. Malou shares, that in our working, let us appreciate and find peace in the fact and Truth – that all that we do, down to the smallest things, are ‘recorded in the book of Remembrance’; Meaning, it all goes towards something, and is never forgotten. This truth, guaranteed to us through Christ, is something that we as leaders can hold on to, whenever we do find ourselves in the fire, or when we find ourselves trapped with the thoughts that what we do is meaningless.

Christ adds the meaning. Christ’s who we need to keep going. We shall not stop.
