A Glimpse Into True Power – February 26, 2024 (60/365)

So I’m admittedly psyched by this one post (or fine, Tweet) by this one dude I follow on Twitter (or, fine, X). I’m not going to quote him verbatim but he mentioned that anyone who’s been sick or experiencing lucid dreams during the past few days may have experienced what he calls an ‘upgrade’ to their entire being (mind, body, soul)… and this, apparently, comes from a solar flare that happened during that time.

I have been sick. I mean, I’ve been experiencing really bad cough till yesterday (thankfully, nothing today), and I’ve been feeling all tired, or getting tired easily. However, this could all be because I overworked myself last February 15.

I have been dreaming. I mean, I’m not sure if they count as lucid dreams but I’ve had a memorable dream last February 6, and I just had a very interesting and equally memorable dream last night.

Have I been ‘upgraded’? Probably. Probably not. Maybe that was all baloney to begin with. Like I said, I’m following the guy so that means I’ve seen posts he made after that one, and at one point he rebukes someone who I’m guessing replied to that one in question. The other guy said something like, ‘I don’t believe in that astrology stuff man, I believe in God’… to which he responds, ‘Who do you think made the planets and the stars?’

Personally, I say it could be real, it could be fact… But I’m not holding my breath. I’m telling myself right now that the one upgrade that precedes all other ‘upgrades’ done to us, and all other ‘upgrades’ we do to ourselves, is Jesus Christ.

Yep, you probably saw that coming. But I’m not about to say that any talk about our upgrading ourselves by our own means is, as Solomon calls it, vanity. I AM going to point out that I say Christ is our Upgrade that precedes all other upgrades in that, the eternal Value of the eternal Life and Love that we have in and through Him is what gives any real meaning and value to anything else we do to ourselves.

The way I see it we could work out and get a toned body with matching abs, but given enough time we’re probably going to go back to our flab. Who am I kidding, that happened to me. BUT, say, I stayed consistent and I kept my body on a path to what the world calls ideal and attractive – Given enough time, this body’ll fade into ashes anyway.

But the thing is – and this is still the way I see it, as of today – the Christian (that is, the one who comes to believe in Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior, and therefore is made a new creation) does all that he does, whether it be progressive or regressive, in His presence… Just as all that is done to him, whether it be beneficial or unprofitable, is done in His presence.

This means that whether I work out, or whether I’m navigating through a sickness, it’s all happening in the presence of Christ. This means that no matter what dreams I have, I dream in the presence of Christ.

And this is the same Christ who, through Him, gives us the assurance and the resultant peace that our Father is faithful to make all this work for the good of those who love Him (not necessarily us, but for the good of His body), and are called according to His purpose.

And if we are not assured – that is, if we’re questioning what happens to us, or if we’re looking for a meaning to the dreams – That’s precisely why we pray… The same way I believe Joseph prayed before, during and after he interpreted the dreams of the Butler and the Baker, and then Pharaoh himself.

I have to admit that I’ve been blindsided (voluntarily and unintentionally) by the things I actually place my trust in… but in my wandering, the true North always shows itself, and what; WHO I place my trust in is faithful to keep shining.

With that said, all my conscious efforts to get better, and all my frustrations regarding the efforts that have dragged me down in the past and still persist to this day – all this, I lift to the Lord in prayer.

All these dreams that I remember and all these dreams that have long disappeared from memory… all that they have gotten me to feel, all the unanswered questions, and all the emotionally driven interpretations – all of this, I lift to the Lord in prayer.

I guess that’s what we’ve arrived at, this time around. We’re at peace with all we do, and all that happens to us, knowing that the Creator of the Universe is not only with us, but He is for us, and not against us.

And during those times that we find ourselves at odds with this peace, it’s as if it’s been re-wired within us, not to fear, but to pray. We pray to the Lord for all we know, all we think we know, and all we don’t know. We pray to the Lord for all we think is important, and for all we know He knows is important.

We pray to the Lord by His grace, by the finished work of Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray intentionally to bring our being to realizing His perfect love, which both casts out all fear, but also brings in all peace. Through Christ is perfect love, and through Christ is everlasting peace.

Years ago, when things were more in my favor, I was led to the realization that power is peace in all circumstances.

Today, where all that can be shaken is apparently being shaken, I’m led to the confirmation that power is peace in all circumstances.

And, see, the focus isn’t on the power, more than it is on the peace – for through Christ comes peace, and the power follows.

Not the other way around, as the rest of the world would insist.

The prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2) bows down, kneels and declares that the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7) is Lord.

I started this article with the intention of just letting out what’s been happening to me, and that I’ve been dreaming… but it’s nice, how it’s all turning out. I don’t know if you’ve found value here – I’m actually amazed you made it this far – but no matter what, I say now, I am thankful; Thankful, for no less than Christ, who is our Prince of Peace. The source, the presence of True Power.

To Him be all the glory and praise. Amen.
