Yes, I have been away. But the thing is, I’ve been praying a whole lot more. Like, back when I had a more religious mindset more, only this time I’m praying – well, just like before, I’m praying now because I’m more or less at wits’ end regarding a little more in my life than I’m used to . It just goes to show that no matter where we are in our walk with Christ, the Truth is we’ll always need Him; as much in the highlights as in the shadows, as much in the valley as in the mountaintop. Or, if you’re going to see in the perspective of levels, no matter which ‘level’ you claim to be in when it comes to the – what, game? – the game of Christianity (hat tip to my fellow RPG enthusiasts), Christ will always be the Boss…
…and the Good News is, this impossible Boss, this infinitely superior, unbeatable Boss is actually for us, and not against us.
Case in point: It never fails. Whenever we do pray, we’re bound to take in a couple of revelations or two. And I guess I don’t have it noted down here, but I’m pretty sure I posted it on X – That Assumptions may be the mother of all fuckups, but Revelations come from the Father for us to be un-fucked. Pardon my French, but I suppose it helps… for emphasis, I say.
So that’s what I have here, in this… well, what I’m planning to post, anyway. I’m fully aware that I am way behind in my 1000 words a day ‘project’; Funny, I didn’t seem to have this sort of problem last year, but I guess with escalating events (‘escalating’, as in increasing in frequency and impact, quality AND quantity) going on from all points of view, there appears to be more living this year than there is time to write. What I have here are words that came up while or after bouts of intentional prayer and/or walks – yes, I have been praying AND walking more as of late. And I guess, if needs be, some of these words will come with their embellishments.
Also sorry but before I actually jump into it, I also have to share that I’ve also been looking into putting all I’ve typed, not just this year, not just last year, but all that I’ve typed ever since I started blogging – I’m trying to put all of that into more use now. I’ve tried looking into what I’ve learned are called PKM systems – ‘PKM’ stands for Personal Knowledge Management, far as I remember. I’ve learned about the Zettelkasten approach to making notes, and while it does seem like a very nice way of organizing the plethora of things running through our heads, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around how to integrate all that I’ve already typed up to this moment, into such a system, which looks more favorably upon shorter notes with tags. It’s just sad because I have longer notes that I think I need to split up and tag separately if I’m to follow Zettelkasten.
I mean, I tried. I started with my notes here in Evernote beginning 2017, and I’m just stumped trying to get through the first note. Right now as I’m writing all this and sharing it to you, I’m reminding myself that it probably shouldn’t be so stumping, if I developed a system for ‘processing’ my notes so that the larger ones are split into single-thought notes… But then again, should I also be ditching the 1000 word notes I’m chasing after, today? Now that I mention it, I suppose I could just hurry with the 365 1000-word articles, and THEN focus on Zettelkasten application (thanks to Obsidian, by the way, and I’m sure I’ll write more about that app in the future) – but just me saying ‘just hurry’ back there tells me that there may be a better way to approach this.
Sorry, there was some thinking as I was writing there. Bottom line is: For the old notes dating way back, I need to develop a processing system, which is both quick and comprehensive (or just covers everything, even the side notes if necessary)… but I also need to make changes to my current writing system. I think the goal has been changed, from hitting 365 1000-word articles, to hitting at least 365000 words by the end of the year.
You see that the way I used to post my content is including the Date, and the Article ‘number’ out of 365, Heading format is Actual Title – Date (x/365). I think that starting with this post, I’ll be posting my estimated word count plus this post’s word count over 365000; and that means if last post was 261/365, I’ll assume I have at least 261000/365000 words down, and I’ll be posting the updated word count at the bottom of this article. If what I write is a thousand words or more, sure, I’ll put the article number out of 365 as part of the Heading – OR, maybe if the current article brings me up another thousand.. yeah, either of those sounds better.
Sorry, thinking as I’m writing AGAIN. And while I’m at it, how in the world will I be tagging this? And speaking of… well, I think I’ll be putting my tags at the end of each article, after the Word Counter (guess we’re calling it that now). And just so I’m not fooling myself here, I’m not going to be counting the tags towards my word count. Or, anything after the Word Counter isn’t counted.
Turns out I won’t be sharing those revelations… at least not here. But I believe we’ve covered some ground today, and I think we’ll be more efficient in making more use of the past, while being more effective with present content, in the near future. I’m praying all of pushes us forward.
Until the next post which may not necessarily be a thousand words long, God bless you.
