In The Valley

“Why so downcast, O my soul? Put your hope in God!”
Let your entertainment, let your encouragement, let your strength come from God.
I am crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives within me. All hopelessness, all death, all sin that leads to death has been nailed to that cross, and the life I live now is a life birthed by and for Christ who loves me and gave His life for me. Christ became my sin so that I would become righteousness, favorable before our Holy and Mighty Creator. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me – this Spirit is not a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of power, love, and sound judgment. This is the Spirit that intercedes for us in groanings too deep for words.
Galatians 2:20-21, Romans 7:4-6, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 2 Timothy 1:7, Romans 8:11, 26.
Long story short, Christ is all I need. Even right now, when things don’t go my way, when I feel discouraged… He is all I need. When everything has been stripped away and when everything apart from Christ that we think and believe we need is deprived of us, there we see how He is the Bread of life, He gives living water, He is the Way, Truth, and Life, He is Faithful and True, He is our All in All.
Oh, that He never leaves nor forsakes me! Oh, that He sees every tear that falls, every sigh, every hidden sliver of anguish… Oh, that He is here, willing and able to lavish me with everlasting, eternal love! Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus!
Halleluyah!
