How are we to respond in the face of such conviction, which grows with every day that something new happens, progressing towards the end of this age? Let us go beyond sympathy and hollow encouragement to one another, boldly going forth with the mandate which Jesus Christ left us with before His ascension:
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
– Matthew 28:18-20
This is a message to myself as much as it is to everyone else, follower of Christ, or not. Our lives would amount to nothing in the end if we do not have Jesus Christ as our Lord, as our Savior. And for those of us who already have Jesus Christ in our hearts, our lives would be so wasteful if we do not realize that we were saved to bring all to salvation, and act accordingly. Here the enemy tries his darndest to get us to think that we are beyond salvation, that we are insignificant in the Kingdom of God, etc.; But the devil is a liar! My Christian friends, we are to do what we can, that truly, God’s Kingdom come, and His will be done!
Now some of us may think that this involves something overwhelming; but the Word says that everything that we go through happens for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28) – What this means is that all that happens and all that we have been, are currently, and will be involved in is under the eyes of the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob… and surely the Everlasting God has a purpose for all, for His Will! I believe He will use whatever we have been through for the development of who we are today. He will use whatever we are going through for the edification of the Word in our hearts, and He will use what is to come for His will to be done, all for His glory!
“Brent, I don’t believe in Jesus Christ. How does this apply to me?”
I believe that everything that happens in the life of the unbeliever is still under the sovereignty of God, and it all happens to lead everyone to the choice of accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You may or may not believe this, but it is the truth according to the Word, and it is my prayer that you make the right choice. It is our relationship with Jesus Christ that will matter in the end.
There is so much more that I want to say but I will end here for now. If you have any questions or comments, you are welcome to leave them and I will respond, God willing. God bless you and keep you today.
