A little bit over a year ago I posted something about the beauty of looking out the window while being in an airplane at night. Up to this day I could not forget how breathtaking, how thought-provoking that scene was and how grateful I was to see it.
Yesterday I happened to be at another equally beautiful scene; That early morning was spent having a beer at the seashore at night, with the moon being your only source of light. A consolation there was I was with some good friends to share it with.
How I wish that I had my special someone there with me, whoever she is. I have just realized how much I would go when it comes to getting to know that potential someone today. I just came home from Ionic, read all the newspapers there, tried so much to care about certain articles just to pass time, over coffee, and regrettably, cigarettes.
I have always believed that the anticipation prior to an event or an object is as special as the actual thing that you get or experience. I add to that tonight: As long as you know it’ll happen, that’ll be true. I spent near 3 hours in vain in Ionic, waiting for a text, a call, or someone to reply or pick up the phone.
It’s been a while since I talked about Andreia, huh? Well, to cut a long story short, let me just say that I’m close, CLOSE to finally meeting her. Time is dying on me, and so are my chances of meeting her now. However, the hope remains. I wouldn’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. The hope is killing me. Is this my punishment for not meeting her a few years ago? Like she was when I was on the deciding end, am I being sacrificed in lieu of a more important calling?
Suddenly the first verse in the book of Romans, chapter 12 comes to mind.
“And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy – the kind he can accept. When you think of what he has done to you, is this too much to ask?”
The comfort I get from this is that she probably saw this same verse when she read the Purpose Driven Life. God bless her.
Here are some pics I took while waiting.
