Every Day Carry (Proverbs 26) – June 01-03, 2025 (212/365)

Transcript from last Sunday:

Welcome to the Good News Aces, where our worship team doesn’t mind singing their throats out to lead. That’s right, we bring ‘sacrifice of praise’ to another level.

Thankful for bro Dan who reminds us that Communion reminds us of what brings us together – Christ and His finished work.

Thankful for sis EJ who reminds us that the joy of Giving is from the joy of Receiving from the Lord.

We have a family!

Shared on my message to the Youth regarding Respect – For all our rites and rituals, it all boils down to realizing (1) people are created by God and (2) Jesus died for people. This ties in to the previous virtue that I discussed with them, Tolerance.

Prayed and opened with this – a transcript of a reel from @conspiracy_peter on Instagram:

You ever wonder why every hit song is about heartbreak, cash, or chaos?

Because that’s what people relate to?

No, that’s what they programmed you to relate to. It’s not a playlist. It’s a mental operating system.

Wait, but my sad playlist always gets me.

Exactly, Cupcake. They gave you a feeling, then sold you a loop.

You think every lyric is a psy-op?

When six companies control 90% of what hits your ears, you don’t hear what’s true. You hear what trends, inspiring tracks, varied, energetic vibes, shadowed. And if they do sneak one through, the lyrics lift you up, but the beat drags you down.

Wait, you’re saying they intentionally pair motivational lyrics with depressing sounds?

Of course. That contrast, it splits the brain, installs the dissonance.

You think you’re healing, but you’re emotionally destabilizing. And it’s worse with text-based songs. Because you repeat the words in your head, and what you repeat becomes your world.

I can’t even walk outside without earbuds anymore.

Exactly. You’re not listening to music. You’re uploaded to it.

Okay, but what about old music? It felt happy?

Because it was. Old tracks were bright, full-spectrum, harmonic.

Now, minor keys, low tempo. 8-0-8’s like heartbeat suppressants.

It’s not music. It’s mood anesthesia. They replaced rhythm with repetition. Lyrics with loops. And meaning with manipulation. You don’t notice because you need it now. You wake up to music. You commute to music. You can’t even think without background noise.

Now that sounds like a conspiracy that scans to a considerable degree… But we do want to base whatever we share on the Bible, and sure enough, Christ shared the following: 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:9-10)

How does the thief come to steal, kill and destroy? Well, that’s where Proverbs 26 comes in for our consideration – The thief would have us foolish, sluggish, and/or chaotic.

The Fool

1 Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.

2 Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying,

a curse that is causeless does not alight.

3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools.

4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself.

5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

6 Whoever sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.

7 Like a lame man’s legs, which hang useless, is a proverb in the mouth of fools.

8 Like one who binds the stone in the sling is one who gives honor to a fool.

9 Like a thorn that goes up into the hand of a drunkard is a proverb in the mouth of fools.

10 Like an archer who wounds everyone is one who hires a passing fool or drunkard.

11 Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool who repeats his folly.

The Fool is untrustworthy, steals security as he/she is insecure, operating out of heartbreak. To be foolish is to concede to the thought that you cannot trust God.

The Sluggard

12 Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!”

14 As a door turns on its hinges, so does a sluggard on his bed.

15 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; it wears him out to bring it back to his mouth.

16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly.

The Sluggard is wise in his own eyes. Overconfident, Arrogant. I added that he/she places hope on Cash, i.e. Mammon/Possessions; To be sluggish is to concede to the thought that you can place your full trust on yourself, or anything else that isn’t God.

The Talebearer

17 Whoever meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears.

18 Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death

19 is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I am only joking!”

20 For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.

21 As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.

22 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.

23 Like the glaze covering an earthen vessel are fervent lips with an evil heart.

24 Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart;

25 when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart;

26 though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.

28 A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.

The Talebearer is deceptive. Lying. Sows Chaos; To be chaotic is, well, to yield to chaos and to consequently spread chaos.

Our Response? Every-Day Carry. Why? Survival, or self-defense.

Joe Gilbert: Divide their attention, disrupt their plan, disable their body and destroy their will to fight.

The Word: God speaking to you. Revelations. Restoration. Clarity. No heartbreak.

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:1-2

Worship and Prayer: You speaking to God. Dependence. Acknowledgement. Put cash in its place.

1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!

2 Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! 3 Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

5 For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever,

and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100

The Spirit: Spirit of Order.

6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

13 Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.

2 Timothy 1:6-7, 13-14

The Word points to Christ

Worship/Prayer turns us to Christ

The Spirit glorified Christ.

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 10:9-10

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

Is that why silence feels scary?

Because silence is the only time your mind is yours.

Peter, that’s the most terrifying thing I’ve ever heard.

You didn’t vibe to the track. The track vibed through you. They don’t sell music. They sell states of mind. And the chart toppers? Those were your chains with a beat.

So what do we even do? Just stop listening to music?

Start with silence. Then play something yourself. Guitar, drum, even singing if you can. When you make the sound, it comes from you, not them. And you’ll realize silence isn’t empty. It’s where your voice was waiting.

I always thought silence was boring, but now it feels like a doorway. Thanks, Dad.

Come to Him in the silence… and don’t be surprised if you sing as we sang…

Jesus, Your Name is power, breath and living water.

Amen!
