Father, Son, and Holy Spirit:
My mind is yours – My thoughts, my concerns, my insecurities, my confidence, my secrets, my masks, my frustrations, my worries, my plans, my memories, my hopes, my desires, my feelings, my preferences, my priorities, my connections, my emotions – all I can muster regarding my mind, and all that remains, all that is beyond; All my mind is all Yours.
My body is yours – My strength, my speed, my flexibility, my internal chemistry, my physiology, my brain, my gut; My nutrition, my intake, processing and output; My running and gunning, my senses, my reflexes…
My past, present and future are yours – all my pain, all I’m enduring, all that I’m worried about; All the pleasant memories, all the current operations, and all I’m looking forward to.
All my being, all I’m aware of, all I’m not aware of, all I know You know (as You know all, and beyond) – All, my God, my Creator, my Savior, my Sustainer, my Lord and King – All is Yours.
dies est Domini.
The Day is the Lord’s.
Sabbatum est Dóminus vobíscum.
The Week is the Lord’s.
Dóminus omnes.
All is the Lord’s.
Psalm 10
Why Do You Hide Yourself?
1 Why, O LORD, do you stand far away? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor; let them be caught in the schemes that they have devised.
3 For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the LORD.
4 In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
5 His ways prosper at all times; your judgments are on high, out of his sight; as for all his foes, he puffs at them.
6 He says in his heart, “I shall not be moved; throughout all generations I shall not meet adversity.”
7 His mouth is filled with cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue are mischief and iniquity.
8 He sits in ambush in the villages; in hiding places he murders the innocent. His eyes stealthily watch for the helpless;
9 he lurks in ambush like a lion in his thicket; he lurks that he may seize the poor; he seizes the poor when he draws him into his net.
10 The helpless are crushed, sink down, and fall by his might.
11 He says in his heart, “God has forgotten, he has hidden his face, he will never see it.”
We cry out to the Lord today, keeping in our mind our brothers and sisters in Syria, in Israel, and in all other nations – I dare say the rest of the world – where we who proclaim ourselves as followers and believers of Jesus Christ are persecuted.
We cry out to the Lord today, against all the arrogant wicked who pursue and subdue the poor – Indeed, let them be caught in their own schemes and traps.
We cry out to the Lord to day, against all the proud wicked who refuse to seek Him, who intentionally avoid Him, and even go as far as to say that there is no God. May He cause them to cease puffing at their foes.
May they cease in their boasting, before the great glory of the Lord – May they fall silent with their curses and renunciations, when their own plans for gain crumble before the One who owns every beast in the forest, and every cattle on a thousand hills.
May their ways cease in prospering and may Your gracious judgments fall upon them from on high.
In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ – Indeed, may His name crush the power of their curses, their lies, and their abuse. Indeed, may our Father bring their mischief and iniquity back to their own doorstep!
Oh, Father! For our beloved brethren, in the body of Christ – for our brothers and sisters, ambushed, lurked, and seized; For Your children, crushed, sunken, and fallen…
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up your hand; forget not the afflicted.
13 Why does the wicked renounce God and say in his heart, “You will not call to account”?
14 But you do see, for you note mischief and vexation, that you may take it into your hands; to you the helpless commits himself; you have been the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call his wickedness to account till you find none.
Lord, they mock You – They claim You have forgotten, that You have hidden Your face; They claim You will never see what they do, nor would You call them to account!
Open their eyes, Father! Open our eyes to the mischief, to the vexation – subdue the powers and abilities of the wicked, and those would would do evil. Hold us to account, both believer and hater alike – See the blood of Christ over all our being, and see their own affliction – their own need for the same Savior to whom we cry out!
That’s what we want, most of all, Father – whether You subdue, or in all that’s going on, be it righteousness or wickedness – Oh, Father, let Your light, Your love, and Your life be known and seen! Let Christ be glorified, for every tongue, and every tribe to behold Your goodness, that all would be led to repentance! Crush the power of the wicked, that they may see and submit to Your power – Confound their schemes and plans, that they would see Your grace!
16 The LORD is king forever and ever; the nations perish from his land.
17 O LORD, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear
18 to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.
I didn’t expect this today, but I suppose it is timely. In our prayers for ourselves and our families, and the body of Christ – let us not forget our brethren around the world who are suffering and dying for their belief in Christ.
May the grace and glory of the Lord be seen across the earth – That all would be saved.
Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee.
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.
Amen. Let’s have a good day ahead.
Let’s have a good week ahead.
May the Lord continue to bless us all.
