For The Youth (Inventory, pt7) – November 09, 2024 (362/365)

The following notes were taken as I was called to join this mentor of mine and his family, as he presented/submitted his certificate of candidacy to run for higher office.

The platform of his running mate, who was running to keep his position – He wanted to focus significant energy into the youth of the city, and to be consistent in his message and advocacy, as he has been for at least one term now.

And speaking of advocacies, he shared one in the midst of a group of candidates with different ones. In fact, they’re all from different political parties, also representing different age groups, but what he boasts of is that this particular team he’s spearheading has the same vision.

The platform my mentor presented was one which prioritized healing… and I think it fits into the entire vision of the team, in that if his running mate was focused on securing the future (by taking a good look at the youth and staying consistent), he was going to double down on that by addressing the mistakes of the past, and ushering in recovery.

It’s all covered by one vision. And as I wrote, you’ll know when a vision is worth your consideration when you see that it naturally inspires and encourages convergence and consistency.

In fact, do you see a consistent man, a man that practices convergence – a man who responds graciously to all perspectives, keeping what is good, encouraging unity over ideology? This is a man with vision.

Do you see a company or a group of people that come together and stay together, staying consistent in their own actions, day in and day out? Regardless of it being ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, you can be sure that there’s a vision there.

And speaking of consistency… it brings healing. Look at that one video on social media where a hole in the sand ‘heals’ the more it is brushed over consistently. Just as there is a vision behind consistency, so healing follows consistency.

And, ultimately, it is humility that ushers forth consistency. Humility keeps you from throwing in the towel, and humility keeps you giving in to the thoughts that you’re right about being weak and the opposition being strong. Humility keeps you going – as you think of yourself less, and think of others more, you will keep going, more for them, and for their well-being.

Setting up a dynasty DOES ensure succession, but in the short term. No, it’s consistency that matters – it’s consistency that projects a strong vision, and it’s consistency that brings healing. It’s humility-based consistency that brings meaningful succession..

..and the most beautiful demonstration of humility, the greatest act that ushered in consistency, and not only consistency, but posterity and perpetuity – That was done by Christ, who lay His life down on the cross, and rose to life proving that His work was finished.

This truly is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful in our eyes.

And speaking of the youth, we’re humbly aiming to be consistent in our message, of loving them and teaching them… starting this November.

In fact, we’ve already started it, with 2 Timothy 1 discussed on the first Sunday of the month, and the next chapter to be discussed this coming Sunday.

Pretty soon we’ll be having time with the youth of our congregation, exclusively for them, and besides wrapping up 2 Timothy for them, speaking from the heart to their heart… I think I shouldn’t be forgetting those verses from Jeremiah 1:1-10:

1 The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, 2 to whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, and until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the captivity of Jerusalem in the fifth month.

The Call of Jeremiah

4 Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” 7 But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.

8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD.”

9 Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said to me,

“Behold, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

To the youth:

The Lord knew you even before you were born. Before you were born, the Lord already had a purpose for you, and a voice for you to use.

You may think that you don’t know how to use your voice. You may be intimidated because you are young.

But, do you hear that? As the Lord tells Jeremiah, so He tells you – don’t say that you’re only a youth, or you’re still young: He establishes the purpose that He has given to you – where you are sent, you will go, and what God tells you to say, you shall say.

Don’t say you’re only a youth. Don’t be afraid of everyone you are sent to – God is with you, and He will deliver you.

Not only will the Lord give you a voice, not only will He tell you what to say – He will literally put His words in your mouth… and, also, through Christ, you can be assured that He gives you His words, the Living Word, into your heart.

Your voice will pluck up and break down, destroy and overthrow; Your voice will build, and your voice will plant.

I should put this together with everything I come up with from 2 Timothy. This is awesome as it us, but let’s make it more whole, more complete.
