This content from Romans 5 and 6 emphasizes the believer's transformation through Christ. We are reminded that we are dead to sin and alive in Christ. As new creations, we have the desire and power for righteousness. The Holy Spirit enables us to live in victory, enjoying a life of righteousness through Christ's finished work.
The early followers of Christ, known as "The Way," faced opposition but were rooted in hope and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Their commission to make disciples is empowered by Christ's authority. Discipleship is a lifestyle, marked by faithful and consistent learning and application, not a mere activity. Love and discipleship are natural, not competitive, expressions of faith.
