Hell of a Week II

Hello. I’m typing this on a really cold Saturday morning, and I was just thinking that there are some things I left out after the mushy charade I whipped up the last time.

But hey, lemme just say that the song that perfectly fits how i felt since that stupid decision i made is (ahem) I can’t get nooo.. Satisfactiooon..

I just watched Iron Chef, and I was wrong about something: Masaaki Hirano, the Rosanjin scholar, is still alive! When I heard him again after a long time, I just couldn’t help but laugh like anything while pointing at the TV screen. I mean, if you look like Pat Morita, and if your job description sounds like it involves liquor, would you really sound believable when you talk about the harmony between the texture and aroma of a blanched snapper head soaked in balsamic vinegar and hot bean paste? Yeah, you read that correctly – Hot bean paste.

Unbelievable, how an exquisite condiment can sound a lot more exotic if we did some rearranging – Paste of Hot Beans. Mmm mm m!

And, I’m sure some of us are wondering, “Where is Angelo de la Cruz now?” Well, he’s wherever POGs and Nokia 3210s are – forgotten. Of course, this is different from ‘better off forgotten’ – that’s where the Vengaboys and Las Ketchup would be.

And speaking of those accursed groups, isn’t the fact that some people make money by doing stupid things disturbing enough? Now we have groups with their ‘novelty’ songs making money by making other people stupid? Damn it, HITLER did the same fucking thing! I say we charge them with crimes against humanity, and then we send them to a Taliban-controlled 3rd world country. They’d be far, FAR away from me when I have kids of my own.

Don’t get me wrong – most songs I can swallow, but some just stand out as being downright painful. You want a good parenting tip? Raise you kids up with jazz, bedroom songs, and soul, with a sprinkling of gospel, if you prefer. That way, he or she can have a good foundation – from there the kid can explore and be streetwise. Right? Right?
